So, is she not going to let you hold him still? I think that's still a bit much - - that's why he only wants her now......I sure hope she'll relax a bit about that and let you cuddle with him before he starts walking.

Oh my word is right! LOL! She has her baby doctor's appointment today. Her checkup was yesterday and she is still running a fever. She will be seeing another doctor, for herself, today and will probably need some type of antibiotic, which they said the baby would get very little of.
It sounds worse on the holding him thing, except that, we live an hour away from each other and unless I see her at church, I don't run over to her house more than once a week. It's not like I see her every day.
BUT, she has taken him to Dillards (having cabin fever and needing to get out) and by her office, so the holding him thing is silly. She better hope she moves on with this, because tomorrow, she will hear all about it. Her father is starting to get irritated, so that's the end of it. LOL!

Weren't those cute? She send them to me in separate e-mails and I put them together and sent them back to her. The last one reminds me of that boy on "The Kid". LOL!
Oh, and on his weight gain - the nurses were laughing about it and saying, "His mommy has some good stuff!"

The monitor signals when he stops breathing. He has to stop breathing for so many seconds to be counted as an episode. I can't remember how many seconds that would be. Anyway, it distinguishes between not breathing and shallow breathing, which is normal.

Well, I know the monitor has to be a pain, but I'd want it on too until he either outgrows this or is healed. Let's believe that he won't have any episodes this month.
Even though he has this issue, there's NOTHING wrong with you guys holding him - - someone needs to let her know that and hopefully, it will be the doctor today.
It's not like you have leprosy!

Right! LOL!
Well, how it started out is that the doctor told her, with his issues and being a preemie, he didn't want any elderly or children around the baby for one month (both tend to have immunity issues of their own) until his immune system was a little better. So, she transferred that fear to include everyone.
But, just this past week she has taken him out, at least, three times and so I think she is doing much better. He took some time to gain any significant weight and I think that was something that added to her fear. When we would drop by, she would say, "Does he look like he's getting bigger?" This has just been a very scary time. I can only imagine what Ferd and tstew and their wives went through, who were having much more monumental issues.
Now that he is visibly gaining, he is in the 3-6 month clothes selection now, she is calming down. She just needed to "see" something change for her. Remember too, it took her 8 years to have this baby. The fear of losing him was overwhelming and something she had to work through on her own. I didn't say anything to her as it would only add to the anxiety. Besides, it would have done no good and her husband sides with her no matter what! LOL!
She talked about coming to church this Sunday. The doctor said that the 10 episodes were saying he is getting better, but they want more time. The machine startles him into breathing again, so they want to allow that to go on for another month - remember - "Whimpy White Boy Syndrome" LOL!

LOL! Only his lungs are whimpy. Yes, she will relax for sure. Saying she will bring him to church is a big step.
