That's nice. L&S is a good greek source...I can look at any dictionary and see there are multiple ways of translation, but the meaning is still basically the same.
As for the argument it can mean perform ablutions.
When the greek word is used in the passages were someone is dunked in Water (like Jesus) it's passive. It means GET YOURSELF baptized...and as we see someone else does the baptism. So for the passages we are looking at for baptism it can't mean to perform ablutions as if the candidate washes himself. That is what ablution means.

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
- There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
- The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
- Every sinner must repent of their sins.
- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Sister, I am sure that when He said, "He that endureth til the end" He had to have meant something other than "he that endureth til the end." Everything else He said means something other than what He said, so why should this be any different? The only part that means what He said is the part about believing. Everything else is subject to interpretation, dissectilization, intellectualization, and translation, regardless of the abomination that results. (I feel a Jesse Jackson thing a comin on me! )

And Acts 2:21? Do you have an explain away for that based on the KJV too?
