It’s where the industry gets together and pats themselves on the back. Most organizations do it. It is called self-promotion. Maybe they’ll fine tune it and have copper, silver and gold levels of the Prestige awards. They can call it the Presties. It may be modeled on the Masonic order. I noticed that they have sponsors for their “convention”. “Christian” sponsors of course. I noticed they weren’t affirmed to be Pentecostal or Apostolic. Money does influence people. The sponsors were even allowed in the sacred desk, I mean pulpit, excuse me . . . lectern.

I dont know anything about that really. I know they helped my mother when she was a child and sent her to Shriners Children's Hospital so she could get the medical care that she needed.


My mother was born disabled with some pretty serious complications.


When I see Shriners, thats what I think of...not how "weird" they are or whether or not some church let them behind their "sacred desk".

Allow me to clarify. I didn’t mean that the Shriners has sponsors for their convention. Rather the UPCI has sponsors for THEIR convention.

And I agree that the Shriners do a lot of good. They shame us. In a weird way. The people that UPCI let behind the lectern (in the video) were an Insurace executive and someone from a bank? IIRC

The formal title is Order of the Faith. The article used an adjective to describe the title as "prestigious." It's really not that hard to understand. A big clue is the word "Prestigious" isn't capitalized.

First, this is a banquet at General Conference, not a church service. Second, what's wrong with a company sponsoring a banquet?

Growing up, the church school I attended had sponsors for both the school yearbook and the graduation banquet.
