I worked for them for about 10 years. It can be stressful, but just remember you work for God not man.
I hope God treats me better than my last employer.

Update

When I went to the repair shop the gentleman replaced the shattered screen with a screen that is full of cracks- free of charge. He could not replace the home button. APPLE can for nearly $400.

Frustrated that I could not get into the phone I logged into iCloud on the laptop and erased phone. Well, duh... I couldn't get password screen to come up because I had entered a callback number in case someone found the phone. I tried entering my friend's number but he gave me one wrong digit. Not important, because I found my phone...

Back to the delete. I deleted phone content. Phone was on hello screen as if it was new. Those familiar with iphones, you have the option to set up a new account or to login to existing account.

Anyway, I remembered that the day before my adventure in Wharton I did a backup of phone to iTunes on laptop. Something that I have never done previously, ever, with an iPhone. I don't like having personal info on many devices.

Now to bring you up to speed... I plugged my phone into the laptop an hour ago and I was given the option to do a phone restore. I did. Upon restart phone recognized that finger print scan was not functioning and prompted me for passcode. I was able to go to settings and select an option for a "button" to appear on the screen. So far so good.

I borrowed enough to pull out another line with new phone, not enough to purchase a new screen... so... I think i'm going to put a cover over the glass and use the loan for inspection and registration.. get on the road again.

Re: what i'm up to

I have been putting air in tires every othe day. Went to discount tire this morning. One of the tires had a tear that was irreparable. They replaced the tire at no cost because I purchased insurance when I had tires replaced in 2016. I only had to pay for insurance on the new tire.

When I need to replace the other 3 tires in a few months- that’s not covered by warranty, is it?

If you got new tires from Discount, there should be a warranty on them. Not sure how long the warranty would be for, though.

As for phones, I cannot believe how much you spend on a phone. I got mine for about 100 bucks, pay 55 a month for like 10G of data, unlimited calls and text. It's a "smart phone" and does everything I need. In fact, to be honest, I'm thinking about dropping my satellite internet and just going with a 60 dollar plan that has 23G month data plus wifi-hotspot (I'll just hotspot my phone data for home PC use). I'm probably also going to go to a simple flip phone. I'm becoming more convinced that other than email and certain business apps and certain educational things (tutorials, etc), the internet has pretty much run its course. The more I stay away from it the less I want to come back to it.

Worse thing about the internet is you discover just exactly how many people in the world you don't want anything to do with. lol

Purchased warranty on tires. Good for 3 years or til tread is at certain wear. They replace them if they can’t repair them. But when the remaining 3 are worn I want to know if I can swap them out for new ones or if I’ll have to pay out of pocket.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Re: what i'm up to

America needs more truck drivers. The trucking industry is facing a growing shortage of drivers that is pushing some retailers to delay nonessential shipments or pay high prices to get their goods delivered on time.

A report from the American Trucking Associations says more than 70 percent of goods consumed in the U.S. are moved by truck, but the industry needs to hire almost 900,000 more drivers to meet rising demand.

The ATA report notes that the industry has struggled with a driver shortage for the past 15 years. During the Great Recession, freight volumes dropped, allowing the industry to meet demand with fewer drivers. But when volumes recovered in 2011, the driver shortage became a problem again.

According to an industry analysis by DAT Solutions, just one truck was available for every 12 loads needing to be shipped at the start of 2018, which is the lowest ratio since 2005.

"In addition to the sheer lack of drivers, fleets are also suffering from a lack of qualified drivers, which amplifies the effects of the shortage on carriers," says ATA Chief Economist Bob Costello. "This means that even as the shortage numbers fluctuate, it remains a serious concern for our industry, for the supply chain and for the economy at large."

Re: what i'm up to

Have considered it. They put drivers out with no real experience. I don’t want to kill someone. Thinking lately I need something local. Grandmother is old. While she is not at the point of needing a care taker, it’s good for someone to be here with her.
