O NO a hammond M is Not going to Cut it my friend!!!
even an A-100 would be MUCH Better than that and are not too pricey.
in fact, I love the A-100. they are EXACTLY like the B-3, same amount of Keys, same exact buttons & options but Way Less in Price. If you hook it up to a 122 or 147 Leslie you would never tell the difference.
you can buy one on Ebay or from the internet and find A good deal BUUUUT you will pay $$$$ for the crating! I bought an A-100 for home and ended up paying $600 for the crating. This time I waited till something came up in my area. My Organ repairman found this one just outside of Fresno and brought it to me for free.
also! Don't buy one from a Pentecostal church! lol
those organs have taken the most abuse of all (out side of the ones that have been played in Rock bands!). the ones that have sat in a person's home or funeral palor are the best. we had a funeral home call us one day to tell us they had a organ to give away if someone would just pick it up.
I didn't think it was going to be much of anything. but I went and took a look and low and behold it was a hammond B-C which is the B3 before it was called a B3 minus the percussion. I used it in our chapel till we found a hammond C-2 for $40 dollors! yes $40! I turned around and sold the B-C for the church for $1000.
