Um......Thad, you are mistaking me for one of the conservatives. *I'M* not the one who wants scripture for everything, but it's the cons who claim there is scripture for everything and judges people by non-existent scripture. THAT'S when I ask for scripture, not for any other reason.

IOW, if you say I'm going to hell for doing something, and I've never seen that scripture and therefore don't agree, then I want to see the scripture.

If you say that you follow a belief for yourself, why would I ask for scripture? I don't care what others do. It's when they judge me by their beliefs that I'll ask for scripture if I don't agree.

Thad, Deut 22 does address cross-dressing, remember?

That is how I address gender benders.

I think that it's just another way this wicked American society is blurring the lines between male and female and, for all intents and purposes, trying to turn men into women.
Are you saying the UPC does not allow their women to be women?

Thad, honest discussion please.

I've never said anything about a woman wearing pants that look exactly like a man's. With the exception of jeans and jogging pants, the pants for either sex don't look exactly like the other.

Not that it would matter. The Bible makes no gender distinguishments for robes for either sex....however, women did wear veils and men wore mantles in addition to the robe, distinguishing their sex. Men didn't wear veils, did they? Women didn't wear mantles, did they?

Makeup is an abomination? Thad, are you listening to someone tell you these things instead of looking for scripture? This is why it's difficult having honest discussion with you because you refuse to look into this for yourself.

I'm not sure if I'll be participating in this subject with you much longer.

Only one of the three choices matches the pseudo-logical statement you intended to make.

In #'s 1 and 3 you are supporting the idea of being unisex; in #2 you are stating that if cross-dressing is okay for woman, then it is okay for men. (except that I don't believe that putting on a pair of pants is cross dressing) If it is, then I'm a cross-dresser every time I wear a pair of pajamas or wear culottes to ride a horse.

I'm not, though, so....there's that....

P.S. Just in case I'm not being clear enough about #'s 1 and 3, here's a similar statement:

"If bras are okay for women, then they're okay for men."

I'll bet President Bush wears make-up on a daily basis.

Where does this logic come from? It certainly isn't Biblical.

I don't wear pants because men do. Men and women wore the same attire for thousands of years and nobody complained........until about 400 years ago when men decided to bifurcate their garment, which was considered immodest at the time.

They wore their pants with stockings and high heels too, which were men's attire at the time also.

Why can't you people understand that clothing changes with culture?

Men wore skirts until about 400 years ago, and still do in some cultures. They didn't have a problem with it then and they don't have a problem with it now, but your point makes no sense.

I wear a bra, being a woman. However, they also make bras for men who need them. They aren't like a woman's bra, but they are bras all the same. Men aren't cross dressing if they are wearing a man's bra.

I just don't get people who think that because a woman wears certain attire below her waist that is similar to men that men should be allowed to do the same at this point in time. It just makes no sense.
