I didn't take the post as 'picking on the woman' as much as showing the damage that this doctrine is doing. Here you have a woman who is troubled, going through bad times, and she's depending on a kooky doctrine like this to bring her through. It's tragic. JESUS is the one who will bring her through, and JESUS is the doctrine that should be preached. False doctrines often prey on the weak. It's so sad.
This heinous doctrine presents a false hope it's teachers and victims have names, faces and impact.
Timlan, Although I generally agree with what you write, the last sentence is filled with unsubstantiated assertions. This is very much unlike you, as you usually show reason instead of bias. You are one of the best, if not the best, writers on this forum.
Joel, that's good to know. It would be unhealthy for you to be a rubber stamp for me or anyone else.
I don't post enough to be considered a part of this board so I'll pass on the "Best Writer on the Board" moniker, but thanks.
The fact that an idiotic doctrine like this develops is just the culmination of what I said in my last sentence. If you think that is "bias" and "unsubstantiated assertions," then we certainly have a different opinion as to what constitutes that.
That last line is not "assertion", it's CONCLUSION after spending over 35 years in practically every district of the UPC and getting to know the mindset of the denomination like few have.
And Joel, if I WAS to hang around here more, it would be to chew up and spit out those right-wing nuts on the poli board. It's not worth the time, because about ten people read that board and the creative energy I'd expend would deserve a bigger audience.
But hey--that would REALLY give you something to disagree with me about. ; )
Well, Pentecost in america did start in the Kansas-texas area before spreading outward, and you know what they say about those of us who live in Hillbilly country! LOL! So could pentecost be considered a backward inbred theology?
While Pentecost is valid, we have our crazy people!!!! (And no comments for those of you who know me!) LOL!
Kansas has hills????????????????????????????????????????????? ??????? I thought that state was as flat as a pancake!
The wonderful thing about living under a delusion is that you don't have to prove your outlandish exhortations.
She's created her own little Wonderland. Carry on, Alice.

Bump for Bob Dylan. I wonder where this woman got her ideas from... Out of thin air? Or do you think what shes saying is scriptural. That she can really command angels?

ROFLOL
Tim, your posts are so hard to follow sometimes, the way you mince your words.
For once why don't you just come out and say you how really feel??
