Re: Move to Free wyoming
I'm in a city that is 99.8% white, but I wouldn't say that it is a good thing. It is kinda sad to live where there is racism, but I was raised here, inherited my home and kinda stuck for a while. There are many things I do love about where I live though.
I drive 30 min to a church in Indy where the pastor is black and 90% of my brothers and sisters in Christ are black.... I love my church family with my heart, so your listing that fact as a plus really bothered me.
as far as Wyoming, too much wide open spaces for me.... I like cities and people too much.

Not sure where you got your "facts" But they are not totally accurate.

False, It is not a primary offense, but if you are stopped for something else you will get a ticket.
75 mph speed limit
Only on interstates.
no car inspection stickers
True
largest town is only 55,000 people
True
97% white with lowest crime rate.
False, it's only true if you count Hispanics as white. And there are 8 states with lower violent crime rates. And there is no correlation, but there may be to the next statement because most people do have guns.
No gun laws, anyone can own or open carry a gun.
Mostly true, but convicted felons can not own guns.
Only state that does not share info with IRS.
False, Wyoming follows all the laws everyone else does. Wyoming has no state income tax.
Hunting is the best, no deer stands needed.
True
Road hunting is legal. If your handy capped you can shoot out the window, if not you must take 10 steps out of truck.
Partially true. You can get a permit if you are handicapped to shoot from the vehicle. Everyone else must be off the road and across the fence, there is no 10 step rule.
Game wardens do not wear guns, and are freindly.
Partially true, they are mostly friendly but they do carry guns.
Lowest unemployment rate in US.
True
Wages are higher, C-stores and Micky D's starts out 12.00 per hour.
False, most wages are less for similar jobs. These wages may be in Jackson, but the cost of living there is way higher than the rest of the state.
Only place you can buy remote land for 200.00 bucks per acre.
True, but when they say remote, it is REALLY remote with no water and no way to actually live there.
No aircondtioner needed in summer.
Partially true, it is nice enough most of the time, but most people have air conditioning.
Wind zone is highest, this means you can build home with small wind genarator to run entire house with no electric bill.
Partially true in some parts of the state, but it also means you have to put up with the wind.

Re: Move to Free wyoming
Annual salary averages around $30,000. Some counties are significantly lower than that.
http://wealth.mongabay.com/cities/WYOMING.html The table shows population of various counties too, which is interesting. One county population 12. Bet the crime rate is low there.
If you want wind, go to KS or OK. They have plenty, even in more populated areas.

These figures are for zip codes not counties,

OK, I misread it... LOL I thought I was from the country... then I read those stats wrong, and thought, woah, not going there. Still a town of 12 can't have much crime...

I grew up on the border of Wyoming and have many family members and friends there. My father's birth certificate reads "Wyoming" because that's where the nearest doctor lived.
Oddly, at least "odd" from "areyourucky"'s point of view, I even have a "black" friend who is raising his family there.
Wyoming is remote and relatively unpopulated so what little population there tends to be homogeneous. Just take the "white" statistic advisably especially if you are driving HWY 287 up to Yellowstone. A lot of those folks are rather swarthy and "areyourucky" wouldn't last the trip unless he learned some manners.
Wyoming was the first state to elect a woman to both the House and the Senate. They are surprisingly "open minded" considering the reputation some folks seem to pin on them. They have a death penalty but Wyoming juries are notoroius for refusing to use that option. They just don't seem to have it in them.
I found "areyourucky"'s "97% white" comment to be a bit offensive in the way that he threw it out there as a "selling point" for Wyoming. I can assure you that there are very few folks who actually live in Wyoming who would ever even think of compiling such a list for their state.
"areyourucky" would do everyone in the Rocky Mountain region a huge favor by just staying away.

That is a working assumption that it is 97% white because whites have worked to keep blacks out.
It might be 97% white because that is who wants to live there.

As I previously stated, I don't care how many people in Wyoming are white, black, blue, or red. I have no plans of ever living there. It was just the pairing of the 97% with the lowest crime rate as a selling point that struck me (and a few others) as a bit strange.
