The rule of thumb is two hours up for every one hour down.

Who is this "thumb" guy? He seems to have a rule for everything.
Randy, it looks like fun. I have twice had the Grand Canyon on my list of things to do and both times it got bumped.

These were great shots Randy. I enjoyed looking through them. I have long wanted to do this also. Thanks for sharing. It looked like you right away had a temptation to feed the local squirrels.lol.

The temptation to hand feed them was pretty strong, but no one really needed to. It is almost impossible to eat without dropping SOME crumbs on the ground and they were literally right under foot and even walking over your shoes, to get to whatever you dropped.

Re: Hike into the Grand Canyon
Awesome! I can't wait to go back and spend some time there. I remember getting very dizzy walking to the edge all the while my wife was running around taking pics and leaning over the edge. I just knew she was going to fall to her death.
I agree. After seeing pictures my whole life nothing was more breathtaking than the Grand Canyon and I just wanted to sit down and soak it all in.

I commented on one of my wife's pictures on Facebook where she is looking over the edge and compared it to the scene where Dr "Bones" McCoy is watching Kirk climb El Capitan from a distance and having a near mental breakdown.
