Kind of what I was thinking- pastor's that think they need to give people in the church "permission" do things like this are still living in the dark ages. That is the Catholic Church ran things then - just glad I don't go to a church like this. I have a pastor that knows how to be a shephard and not a dictator.

This has always irritated me, but not nearly as much as the church members who feel they simply must have his grand high exulted mystic potentate's permission before they can make any decision. They are the ones who feed the ego of those who might not normally be tempted to be so overbearing.

Re: If you leave a church, your out of Gods will ?
I see churches like spiritual schools. Each pastor is a servant teaching my family. By choosing his church, I'm hiring him to tend to my family's spiritual needs. That being said... his ministry better deliver. Nothing personal, it's just that my family's spiritual needs have to be met. I've served under pastors where we didn't grow for the sake of "loyalty" to a man... and my family nearly dried up. Not worth it. So find a church where the ministry will serve your spiritual needs. There may be seasons when your family is better served by just staying home and having home Bible studies. Remember, there's a big difference between "churches" and the "Kingdom of God". Each church is only a very small part of the Kingdom of God. You might leave your old church... but as long as you're walking with Jesus and staying in the Word you're still in the Kingdom.
That's my understanding.

Re: If you leave a church, your out of Gods will ?
If a pastor feels led of God to move to another church, why is that OK but a saint can't? Please help us all understand this!
