I'll also say that I have NO sympathy for Republicans who don't think it's right for people's personal lives to be dug through given the Zippergate happenings of the late 90's with Bill Clinton. $60 million dollars of tax payers money wasted just so we could all know without a doubt that Bill Clinton had committed adultery like 90% of other Presidents through history. No sympathy here. What's good for the goose is always good for the gander, IMO.
For a liberatarian, you sure walk down this democrat talking pionts line to a tee....
That "zippergate" business was an investagation into aligations that Bill Clinton had purgered himslef.... which is a FELONY.
the findings of that investagation were that he indeed DID PURGER HIMSELF.
This wasnt about adultry it was about lying under oath in a sexual harrassment case where Bill Clinton was being sued for sexual harrasment by a LIBERAL DEMOCRAT.
You really ought to get at least a fact correct.

That's such a canard, Mike.
It was not just about sex/adultery, and I think you know that.
Lets see... a sitting president (who also happens to be an attorney-at-law), is caught commiting perjury while testifying under oath, thus attmepting to obstruct justice and deny a fellow citizen the justice due to her thru the court system. Why should we tolerate that from our President? Do you think Democrats would brush that aside if it was George Bush who did the same thing?
The old excuse about "It was just about sex. everybody lies about sex" is an obfuscation of the real truth. It wasnt about adultery, it was about perjury.

I know, I know. I've heard the company line for 10 years about all of that.
The American people realized how silly it all was and the Senate did the right thing. Should Clinton have lied under oath, No. Should hypocrites like Newt Gingrich, Henry Hyde, and my former Senator Tim Hutchison have sat in judgement of him? No.

Right. It was about perjury about adultery, which occurs on a daily basis in divorce courts across America. Thankfully, Congress didn't throw the country into turmoil over the matter.
Given the past 8 years of the degradation of our constitutional rights by the Bush administration, I'm surprised you're still up in arms about perjury concerning adultery.

You and I both know that if you go back through the lists of early Presidents and on, the majority had adulterous affairs. It's anything but shocking or disconcerting given the political history of this country.

Look, I am just going off the top of my head on the presidents I can name for sure. I can dig back more.
George Washington didint
Thomas Jefferson did.
John Adams didnt
James Maddison didnt
John Quincy Adams not likely
Andrew Jackson either did, or married his wife very close after her divorce.... but dont say I said that because I dont want his ghost after me. He killed at least one man in a duel over it....
Again I am working off the top of my head and while that isnt an exact list in order of the early presidents, it does represent some hightlights.... so 2 out of 6 or 33% which is pretty close to the numbers of out most recent presidents....
kind of close to being able to say just less than half were adulterers....
