You people are all a trip, but especially you, OP. My husband comes here and says that he wants to ask a question.
Not once did he say he wanted to get pastoral advice. You ASSUMEthat is what he wanted...
And were WRONG.
It was just something that a pastor may potentially have information about in a jiffy...not even anything spiritual!!! As if he would come to anyone here for spiritual advice! Give me a break!
Anyway, he doesn't need to ask anyone anymore. When he told me what he was looking for I was able to find the information in a few minutes.
I was hoping that he'd gotten some good advice. Then I'd know where to look! LOL!
Turns out I'll have to call you if I need anything.....
And James looks scary!!
Mika, however, is not amused...

It's always best to check with Pastor Google first....

He's a good lookin kid. His parents have done him well.
And he has a brain. A big one. LOL!
If there's anything good about homeschooling, Tina knows how to do it, that's for sure. I wish many others were like her.
I am a big advocate for home schooling, if the parents let their kids take part in other social activities like sports, music, etc. I don't like to see kids who are just stuck at home all the time - seems that they turn out strange.

I saw the bad side to homeschooling that turned me off to it...until Tina came along.
When I was starting high school, the pastor decided that having a church school was a brilliant idea. I graduated from there, but with nothing more than a worthless piece of paper that says I graduated. However, I didn't have the state requirements to graduate, and they lied on my transcript to make it appear that I did.
Fast forward seven years and he decides that the church school idea was all wrong, and encouraged mothers to homeschool their children instead. Not only did these parents have no clue what they were doing, but most of them never got the education they should have. One set of parents had their kids working the family paving business, claiming they did their schoolwork at night. Those kids are now adults and can't read beyond a fourth grade level.
And none of those children went to college. NONE of them.
So seeing all that turned me against it.
But Tina opened my eyes.....

Ashley was homeschooled for six years and Zac for four. They made great grades when they returned to public schooling - in fact, were pretty far ahead of their peers. They both got good ACT scores and scholarships. A Beka is a good program though - pretty tough stuff.
Ashley played softball, took piano, and was a social butterfly, even when homeschooling. Zac played baseball, basketball & football, and was always in some band, so he didn't lack the social part either.
All that to say, there were some very weird people in our homeschool group. One lady would take her kids to the grocery store and count it as a day of school, because they would read cans and add up prices. LOL!
