Context. The Law is a civil code. Yes, in ancient Israel a man was not in sin should he use lethal force to protect his home...however, Jesus calls us to a righteousness higher than the Law.
Christ's statement was an illustration that they would face violent opposition. When they brought two swords Jesus rebuked them for taking him literally and said, "It is enough.", meaning, "Stop this now." The next thing we see is Peter using one of these swords to protect Christ in the garden...and Jesus rebukes him.
Context.
Where do you see indication that Jesus rebuked them for taking Him literally and that in fact He did not mean for them to buy swords?

Dying for the cause of Christ in honourable. Dying a fool's death over not protecting oneself isn't.
I disagree with the premise. Remaining faithful unto death isn't a "fool's death"...regardless of the attacker's motive or rather the crime is "high profile" or not. Martyrdom isn't always as sexy and glorious as depicted in the movies.
Also, one can protect themselves without using lethal force. Escape or ruse is always preferable over any form of physical violence. Wrestling an attacker until subduing them might be acceptable.
But if God brings you to it...he'll take you through it.
I remember watching Little House as a boy and being baffled about why the paw refused to fire a weapon on occasion when most men would. Same with the Amish.
There is a point when one's Christianity goes to the next level...and the men are separated from the boys.

Ok. I get it. You're a man for doing nothing while someone is raping and/or murdering your wife, but I am boy for sending the perp to his maker. That makes perfect sense, Aquila. NOT!

And what do you do when someone short changes you? Turn the other cheek or ask for what is due you?

Whatever you do, for God's sake don't take their knives, they would starve. There's not a complete set of teeth in all of London.
I know, right. What is the problem over there?

Article in the Sun about the number of knife crimes in England.
The British Crime Survey (BCS) - released today - showed nearly 130,000 offences involving knives took place last year – and the total does even not include crimes involving under-16s.
It means that someone was wounded or threatened with a knife, on average, once every FOUR minutes.
They abolished booze here...didn't work. They abolished drugs....didn't work...some how the criminals keep getting weapons and the innocents who abide by the law and carry no weapons on their person pay for it

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
Every sinner must repent of their sins.
That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.
Apparently, having guns doesn't necessarily do a whole lot about crime either. Texas has the highest incarceration rate of any state in the Union. You'd think with all them guns handy that criminals would simply steer clear of that State. lol
Because of drugs, not guns.
