The new campground is pretty much finished. They already have all the youth camps there. I don't really know what the holdup is on having campmeeting there.

There is a large auditorium, nice dining hall, a lodge with hotel-style rooms, dormitories, a concession stand, and baseball field with backstop. That's all I can remember. I think there may also be a large pavilion area. There are more buildings in the future, but it's already way nicer than Holiness Hill. ALL the buildings are air conditioned.

Re: TN campmeeting

Rundown of last night (in case anyone is curious):

Service started promptly at 7:00.
Praise and Worship was led by Regina Sloan with praise singers and musicians from Murfreesboro.
Sis. Karen Harding sang a song she wrote about living in Graceland.
Bro. Sterniman led prayer and anointing of prayer cloths.
The Lexingtons from East Nashville sang. I don't remember what their song was, but it was a southern gospel style, and they sang it very well.
Bro. Ron Becton took up offering. This was followed by prerecorded announcements on the big screen.
The choir from Murfreesboro sang 2 songs: Hold On and Hallelujah Anyhow.
Bro. Kinsey was on the floor at 8:00. He was done preaching at 8:45, and Bro. Brown dismissed everyone at 9:15. Not to shabby for campmeeting.

I see liberalism has crept in! Whoever heard of a Campmeeting sermon that was ony 45 minutes long??????? Or a service letting out at 9:15 pm??????

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Mrs. Pianoman is actually going to get a new style haircut today! Her hair will be darker with highlights. She's never done that before!

We changed our night to attend campmeeting to Friday night. Bro. Stoneking will have plenty to preach about!

So this was Mrs. P's last chance to get that hair cut/color before Friday night's conviction hits? Good call!

Re: TN campmeeting

My husband and I got there late last night, so we had to sit toward the back.

Does anyone know why we don't use THEIR sound system? It was loud but muffled...if that makes any sense. For instance, when the choir sang they blasted my eardrums but I couldn't understand one word. When Bro. Kinsey preached, we could only understand what he was saying when things were quiet. But once people started clapping and "amen-ing" him, it was just a jumble of noise.

We're going earlier tonight...hopefully sitting in the middle will help some.

You know good and well that Pentecostal campmeetings don't need a good PA!

Why bust good speakers??
