I just now it doesn't agitate the clothes, so it's safer. I wash my comforters at the laundry mat.

using that large washer would get it clean, not shake it to death and spin MOST of the water out of it, making it safe to dry.

I'd also suggest if it's not visibly, nasty dirty, wipe it down, using baby detergent on any spots....blot the spots, febreze it and put it in the sun to dry

that oxy clean spray is good on stains too, if there are spots..just spray and blot....

Uh, don't. The last time I worked from home I answered the phone for a major retailer in the US. It was Sears. I took more complaints from people about those front load washers than anything else. They're JUNK.

Not true... depends on which ones you get, I have the LG's and they are wonderful!!! Worth every penny and I love them! They wash and dry so much faster and they have the steam dry option and they are just wonderful... easier to maintain and just good units... not sure which brands you handled but everyone I know who has them love em!

It could have possibly been when they were just coming out for home use and needed some tweeking.

Yes, true. Sears has their appliances manufactured for them by various manufacturers in the USA. Maytag and Whirlpool are two that I know of. I don't know if LG is one of them. I can, however, say without a doubt that the number one complaint I took over the phone was over these front load washers. Whatever it is they use to mount the drum with can not support the weight for very long, and the whole thing gets off balance and can't be fixed. There is also an issue with the mechanism they use to latch the door, and the seal doesn't last very long. I wouldn't take one of them front load washers if it was free.

Well if anyone wants one with a good rep... Go LG... had it for a yr and half. Not had a single problem with them.. the seals are still perfect. And they have never once been unbalanced no matter how large the load. They hold 3 times the size of any other home washer unit and are just wonderful

We did buy our LG from sears too .... everyone elses price for the LGs we wanted was just way too high!

Consider yourself very lucky then, Sister. The division I took calls for was the repair division and you should have heard the complaints these people had about these front load washers! It wasn't simply an issue of having to go out and fix just one problem and that was it, either. Some of these people had had repairmen out to their homes several times, many of which were to fix problems that had been fixed and broke again. It seems there are some basic design flaws with these front load washers. They certainly don't perform like the front load washers you find at laundromats. Anyway, I am glad you haven't had any problems. However, you might want to think about taking out the extended warranty on that washer.

If it can twist it most likely will. Pin it with safety pins around the edges so it won't, then wash it in a big capacity washer on the shortest cycle. I would line dry it after that, because the dryer would also be hard on it.

I also have an LG. We moved and my husband couldn't get the gas converted from natural to lp. I called about 4 or 5 appliance centers and no one wants to work on the LG. Not because it is a bad machine, but because the company doesn't stand behind their warranties. The appliance centers have problems getting them to pay for warranty work.

We finally got someone out to fix it and it was just a matter of a plastic bag in the vent leading to the outside to keep out unwanted things. My husband had already hooked it up correctly.

I know that the Kenmore brand at Sears is not what it used to be. I would never buy a Kenmore anything from Sears, you are right.
