Not the same thing in this case, IMHO...

GO FOR IT and SING!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vicki - Go and sing and bring the presence of God in the place. We are so proud to know you and to know how GOD is using you to go into all the world and demonstrate His Power.

You are right on time and are walking in obedience to God and His Word.

We are called to be LIGHT in Darkness and to be the salt of the earth - A City set up on a hill - that cannot be hid!!!!!!!!!

These guys are just absolutely eat up with ignorance. We are not called to the CHURCH - but to the WORLD!

We rejoice with you and encourage you to allow God to use you in a powerful way. He is with you and He will use you and HE will receive the Glory!

I agree with you that the Manguns are out of the box thinkers, but they're not out of the book thinkers. They are great people.

How would you know whether or not I'm an "out of the box" thinker or not? Surely you are wiser then to judge someone from just a few ravings on a forum.........

I'm sorry, but when I'm talking with my God in my private devotions, I often end my prayer with "in Your precious Name." And I often call Him my Father!

There is no problem with either.

It appears that many on this forum turn their speaking in tongues on and off on command. The more I see of this, the more I wonder if some people aren't relegating speaking in tongues to nothing more than a "let me show you how spiritual I am." What happened to the Spirit causing people to speak in another tongue? Many, I fear, left the Spirit out of this long ago.

Read paul's instruction as to when it is appropriate - and when it is not. Why would he do that if it is beyond human control?

Tongues come with the baptism of the Holy Ghost and the Holy Ghost is resident. He doesn't "come and go". I speak in tongues most always when I pray and in worship too. It's a gift He gave me and a sign that I've received the power and unction that promised for believers. It's not here today and gone tomorrow and back again next week.
