Cant we choose a more central location? Where has it been in the last few years...Canada....now Tampa, Salt Lake....Talk about extremes
seriously - cant they have it where some folks could even drive in if they needed? Not fly and have to rent a car or depend on other transportation?

For one the conference does not need to be a week long event. Make it 3 days. That will save the money they hope to recover if 12,000 pay $25.00.

Like St. Louis? Just think of all the shipping expenses that could be saved if they just held it there every year. Truck loads of stuff has to be driven to the location - - that would be a big savings right there.
COGIC has their conferences in Memphis every year.

Does St. Loius have the capacity capabilities? Just asking and wondering if the location choices have to do with having enough room.

I know at one point when they were well attended that was a factor, however, now, I believe there are facilities available.
I'm sure there is some reason why they do not. Maybe PP can tell us.

Many fly in anyway and these venues are booked sometimes 5 yrs in advance.

Louisville is the best GC site by far. St Louis will host the 2009 GC.
Downtown St Louis is experiencing a new birth lately. There is a wonderful convention center, and new restaurants and hotels popping up all over the place.
BTW, a St Louis GC is great for folks who have never been to HQ, and tours are offfered daily during the conference. It can be quite eye-opening for folks who have never visited WEC.
