What's the name of the church there in Michigan? I live in Mn now...and we like travel around and see new places/churches...
God bless you! 7months!!! What a fun time! My baby is now 4 years old and still crawls around and gets into everything...lol....
Sorry everyone, we are so off topic.
So hard to get things done sometimes with this little booger. The church is Bethel Tabernacle in Niles, Michigan.
I hope this forum does stay peaceful, a place where we can be edified and learn. I am not much of a debater. I dont like conflict . but I do like to read the debates, helps me learn .
Then again, it sometimes "seemed" (a word indicating a perception) that attacking certain people was approved of (if not encouraged) on NFCF while other people were supposedly "off limits" when it came to criticism.
Very good observation.... once again personal attacks on AFF will not be tolerated....

This forum isn't 42nd cousin relative to carrying on Jim Yohe's vision.
First is the anonymous owner thing.
It reminds me of the want-ads in the paper: "Come down to such-and-such-address to hear about an exciting, rewarding career!"
Well, the "career" was selling vacuum cleaners
Those guys knew if they put "selling vacuum cleaners" in the advertisement, no one would show up so they had to use a "bait-and-switch."
If owners have to be anonymous, they know that people would be unhappy with the situation if they were revealed.
Jim Yohe had a vision of an open forum and open discussion. He was willing to pay the price for it.
It cost him revivals and income.
These guys, in contrast, have to remain anonymous because they are afraid of getting caught in something "controversial"?
It reminds me of Richard Nixon saying that some men sought political office to make a difference. Others sought it just to "be somebody."
These present anonymous owners are definitely the latter, stroking their egos with being a "forum owner" with their hands on the ban button.
And then we of course have some crowing that on here there is no "preacher bashing" like on NFCF.
I challenge someone to give me a specific example of "preacher bashing" on NFCF.
And most posters are like those little fish in aquariums that swim in groups; flitting from one side of the aquarium to the other, following the lead fish.
Now everyone is talking about "preacher bashing."
I'll tell you what it was a "code word" for on NFCF - when those espousing typical "ole time pentecostal" rhetoric and postions and the same tired old assumptions got their heads handed to them in argument, they then retreated behind the shield that anyone opposing their point-of-view was "preacher bashing."
I said it on the other forum and I'll say it here.
You have a majority of UPC preachers owning this forum and remaining anonymous with a few "libs" as moderators for window-dressing and you'll see bannings for "preacher-bashing" and the owners and such can convince themselves that they are "right" when they can't prove their positions with any substance.
It would be interesting to know what the financial split of paying the bills are among the supposed "owners" and we'd see how much some of the libs are there just for window dressing.
So no.
This forum is not close to NFCF.
I find it laughably ironic that BOOMM and others are on here talking about "preacher bashing" and others following their lead; herd-like, when the root problems at NFCF leading to its closure were caused by a preacher who was a big part of the forum.
If someone has to remain anonymous, it's the same principle, the same "bait-and-switch" as the vaccuum cleaner sales ad.
Of course none of this will bother some; they just need to get their internet fix so they'll post anywhere.
As for me, I don't think I'll be around here long.
Tim, you are one of the best posters I have had the pleasure of sharing cyberspace with. Your honesty and ability to cut to the heart of the matter generally keep conversations well on track and pointed in the right direction. Having said that, I think in this instance you are off base. One thing in particular that struck me is your not being happy with the anonymous owners.
You said they are either trying to be somebody or make a difference. You seem to think that by being anonymous they are stroking their ego’s trying to “be somebody.” Bro, don’t you think if they wanted to stroke their egos, telling everyone they were the owners would have been the way to do that? By remaining behind the scenes, they get no glory. I just don’t understand where you are coming from with this. Ego? They are “off the platform” who is that an ego trip?
You also seem to think there was no preacher bashing on NFCF. Well, you certainly took people to task when you saw something worthy. I don’t think many confused that with preacher bashing, but I was there on the last day when it all fell apart. Foreverblessed made an innocent comment that got quoted and while what she said was not preacher bashing, at the end of the day “all preachers” got lumped into the argument and clearly it devolved into serious preacher bashing by quite a few. Not only that, but you had liberal pastors and conservatives and everyone in between that felt the pressure. It had nothing to do with taking conservatives to task for inconsistencies in their message. Tim, again, this time I think you are off base.
In essence, you seem to think that the cons own the place and they have a few figurehead liberal admin's. But that simply is a case of miss information. Among the list of owners is Renda. She aint a conservative and I don’t think anyone would confuse her for window dressing.
Now, I don’t think that we really know what this forum is going to be. Only time will tell, but I think you are jumping to conclusions. Before you decide to delete this place from your favorites and swear it off, how about sitting back and watching what happens and then make a decision. So far as I know, there hasn’t been a single lib banned yet, and I have the distinction of being the first to be sent to time out… and I aint no liberal either. (Actually I was fussing with one).
Now we can argue all day about what NFCF was and what this place is, and how that relates to the great Jim Yohe, but honestly, what does it matter? We have a place where most of the main players from the last 4 years have congregated and we have the ingredients for what we all want. Which is a place where we can meet and discuss the matters that are important to our fellowship.

In the interest of dispelling rumors...did you mean to say, "Among the list of ADMINS is Man of Word" ???
MOW is not one of the 5 owners. He is on the Admin Team.
