I totally agree and have shared that same thought with them. I'm thinking that now they have a baby involved, he might step up and say something. I'm hoping he does. If he doesn't, that woman is going to wear my daughter out and I won't be happy about it.

I was actually thinking it was because I was mainly "in charge" of getting it going more than anything.

If he won't, your daughter may have to.

Re: PO's Best Christmas Present EVER!!!!!
PO - wasn't the shower basically "the church" shower and since you are over that, of course, it was you. It wasn't like you personally were throwing the shower.
There's some jealous involved for sure, but people waste their time when they let jealous creep in their lives.

Don't you think that will really make matters worse? They will be mad at her and she will be mad at him for not backing her up. LOL! She's already expressed to me that he is the one that needs to talk to his mother.
She (MIL) just has this way of doing things. She laughs all the while. I think she does things in a sneaky way.
I thought that by telling the grandmother, yesterday, that we don't interfere in the decisions that our children make in their marriage, she might have gotten the hint that they need to do the same. Do people like that take hints or do you have to line it out in plain English? LOL!
I also told the grandmother that it was my decision to have the shower how we had it, that it was what I wanted to do and I wanted to spend the money. Even though I was nice about it, I think she could tell that she wasn't going to push me around. Hoping she picked up on that. LOL!

Yes, it basically was a church sponsored shower. I think because I threw in the most money and purchased everything, it came off that I was in charge - to them. But, that is my job. I'm over that department. Well, I was, until my husband told me to resign. He said, "You spend too much money and I'm not funding every shower and wedding in the county!"
So, now I'm unemployed.
The MIL told one of the ladies from our church, while they were helping to decorate (I was in the kitchen) "She didn't have to go to all of this trouble." The lady said, "That is how Sis. (me) is. She likes everything a certain way". That young lady was priceless in all the help she gave me that day. I couldn't thank her enough. Anything I asked her to do, she jumped in with all her energy.
So, the MIL was complaining to everyone! Lord, almost two weeks later and the whole event is, almost, spoiled. My daughter did get every single thing she needed for the baby. She doesn't need one more thing. That was the best part. I thank the Lord for that. Initially, it looked like we would have a lot of no-shows because the timing of graduation and other events people had going on, but it turned out really well. We did have a lot that couldn't make it, but they sent gifts with someone. I prayed that it would turn out, for her sake.

I think the MIL thought it made her look bad even though it was your choice, etc. She should have just kept her mouth shut and gone home and complained to her dog or something.
People are so weird.

It should be your SIL.
My son tells me anything I need to know and I appreciate it.

You are probably right. She kept saying, "We don't do things that this here." I don't understand what she wanted.
Well, I certainly saw another side of her. I'm very disappointed.
