Sometimes I believe people are too close to see what's right under their noses.

There does seem to be a new acceptance of anything goes in some of the services these days.

Will you please clarify what you mean by continually describing the music your heard as "weird chanting music"??

If you want to stop the confusion, quit using terminology without some type of validation.

Very entertaining!
Yes, and it's amusing when someone tries to describe their "discernment" without using the word "feeling"!

I wondered the same thing. Just because I don't care for what my kids listen to doesn't mean it's wrong. They may not like my favorite flavor either. What was played and sung in the 50s, 60s, 70s, etc was probably considered "weird" by the older folk back then........

Where are words of humility?

Always remember, by their fruit ye shall know them. A lot of this is jealousy for not being in the lime light. That, in itself, is also a "same old same old." Heard THAT a lot as well.
Oooooh good grief!!!

Have you ever cosidered casting down vain imaginations?

If it was lime light that I wanted, I could have had that with NO fleshly difficulty. I rejected that in my early 20s what so many seem to lust after and are willing to sacrifice their walk with God for. I've never regreted my course of action since.

Here are some words of humility:

False messengers of false doctrine infecting the Apostolic movement will be the death of it except for the remnant. That includes the doctrine and messengers of Preterism of all forms, as well as many other false doctrines too.

Spoken in true humility.

Nothing to validate. Chanting is chanting whether it be in montone or sing-song. That should be easily understood. Then all you have to do is take thee blood out of the songs and soon you are wondering what God you are chanting about.

Just because a song does not mention the blood of Christ does not mean I have to wonder which god or God I'm singing about.

Here's one possible form of a mantra (a chant), a simple repetition used to induce a state of being carried away to another place in the spirit of the repeating sound....

when I think of the goodness and what he's done for me
and when I think of the goodness and what he's done for me
I want to dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, dance
all night
all night
when I think of the goodness and what he's done for me
and when I think of the goodness and what he's done for me
I want to dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, dance
all night
all night
when I think of the goodness and what he's done for me
and when I think of the goodness and what he's done for me
I want to dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, dance
all night
all night
when I think of the goodness and what he's done for me
and when I think of the goodness and what he's done for me
I want to dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, dance
all night
all night
when I think of the goodness and what he's done for me
and when I think of the goodness and what he's done for me
I want to dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, dance
all night
all night
when I think of the goodness and what he's done for me
and when I think of the goodness and what he's done for me
I want to dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, dance
all night
all night

[repeat]
