I hope your hunters [whoever they are] have a good "guide". It takes some skill to get a real trophy. Post me some pictures of your hunters success if they have any and I'll put them in my Hunting Folder. If we get into a "trophy picture duel" I have many more photos to post! Ravens especially like to fly around Jimmy Reed Flat and that might be a good place for any other trophy hunter who is interested in a successful endeavor.
My whole family hunts and fishes.I however love to fish.I have spent many a day in the duck blind. The purpose? Game on the dinner table.I don't feel a person should hunt for the love of hunting. Its not about being competitive but about
dinner.Fishing is awesome in Florida.
Well I'm a little late here with my hunting report...
I don't have any pics to post cause she got away!
I shot a nice doe about 7pm Saturday evening with the bow. The shot felt good and looked good. But since I couldn't find my arrow nor any blood, with light fading, I decided to wait till the next morning to look for her.
My husband and I and my cousin went out early Sun morning and searched for two hours before church. We never found her. This is the part of hunting that I hate. It happens with gun too on occasion but so far with the bow my track record is pretty sad. I have yet to take one home with the bow and I've lost 3 now. One from last year we did find but we found it too late.
Anyway, I'll be back out there again this Saturday.
If you would like to read the whole story of the hunt, including my husband's adventures, check out my journal at www.realtree.com under Ladydiehard's Hunting Adventures '07-'08.

My daughter, who will be 14 on Friday, practiced with LR's 243 rifle this evening, as she will be going on the youth hunt in just over two weeks.
She shot a shotgun two years ago, but it scared her so she didn't hunt that year nor last.
But a rifle is different. I got her a ground blind that is set up on LR's property and we saw it today.
But back to the shooting practice. We put up a target of a deer at 50 yards and let her have it. She shot 4 times.....2 with a gun rest and 2 just holding the gun herself. This is quite a heavy gun.
She shot the 2 with the rest right in the heart area, and one of the 2 without the rest in the neck. The other one was a little low, nicking the lung but perhaps able to survive had it been a real deer.
Me thinks I'm gonna have fresh deer meat on my table soon!!! Hehehehehe!!
She only hunts for two days, but I think I'll get her an extra tag or two!
That girl is gonna NAIL one!

Did someone say, Deer hunt??? Perhaps this will increase your already rapid pulse rate. We don't get these from tree stands. Not that there's anything wrong with that. This is a rare Mule Deer - Blacktail cross taken September of 1969 in a far Western place. Hope you have some pictures to post next week!
Raven
Thats an awesome deer!
I'd love to hunt out west sometime.

When I went to my doc yesterday he was telling me about his weekend. He owns 300+ acres in Jackson County, Michigan. He said in Ohio the county with the most deer per acre has only 20 deer per acre. the county his property is in boasts over 50 deer per acre!!! Hunters paradise!!
So he was setting out some new tree stands. He put one up, stood back to make sure it was level and stepped backwards RIGHT INTO A YELLOW JACKET NEST!!! He got stung at least 15-20 times. He said he was not allergic to bees before but with that many stings, his throat immediately started to swell closed. Luckily he had some antihistamines in his car that he took right away.
This same doc was in the paper last year because he bagged a HUGE bear on his property!! It was impressive!!
