I know the reality of being poor.
And no government program helped me one bit.
The one time I went to ask for help (before the birth of my first-born), they told me I made too much money to qualify.
Of course I was working two part-time jobs AND going to school.
So, I asked them what if I had only been working one job.
They said everything would have been paid for...
Told me all I needed to know about government programs.
Many people get used to the hand-out when they should be using it as a hand-up.

Brother, you have a valid point.

However, your valid point doesn't justify Carson's pandering to people's prejudices and fears.

He recently did the same thing with the Jews. It is real popular right now with the not-that-far right to blame Jews.

Though he may have overplayed his hand with his Jew stunt and earned himself "Bachman" status.
