I'm trying to be the same. There still hasn't been any details as to how his injuries occurred.

This little line from CNN doesn't help:

"Five of the six officers involved in the arrest have provided statements to investigators, Batts said. The sixth officer has invoked his right to refuse to answer questions."

CNN Link

No information, though, as to whether this officer was even in the van or has any knowledge of what happened.

I didn't realize the police "wagon" stopped in route to the police station to pick up another person the police arrested.

Quote:
8:59:52 a.m.

The van's driver asks for an additional unit to "check on his prisoner [Gray]," Rodriguez said.

Another individual is arrested and a wagon is requested.

Before the wagon leaves, there is "some communication" with Gray, according to Rodriguez.

They then travel to the police department/ western district with Gray and the other suspect in the wagon. The two are separated by a metal barrier and the two had no physical contact.
Next entry:

Quote:
9:24:32 a.m.

A medic is called
CNN Link

So between 8:59, where "some communication" is made with Gray and 9:24 something happened.

Is it possible Gray himself could have smashed his head against the wall of the van hard enough to cause his spine to sever?

He was sealing drugs + he had a knife. Or he ran from cops + he had a knife.

As for the actual case: It has less to do with race then what side of the city you're on in Bmore.....

..........Gray ran from cops in a drug infested, working class, African American neighborhood, and he had a knife. Not smart.

The officers did the Bmore thing to do: whatever they wanted.

That city's government is corrupt from top to bottom and that does drip down into law enforcement, but that's most northern cities. I've never lived in a place under more surveillance then that city. There are cameras on every block in certain neighborhoods.

I've heard crazies talk about a "police state" coming to America.... if that's so, Bmore's pretty much a head of the time.

Yup. Lets all focus on the riots though.

Running from the cops isnt a crime. They still havent said why he was arrested or what happened to him.

Supposedly he ran the moment he seen them without being stopped. How is that a crime? This whole thing doesnt smell of a cover up?

Re: Illegal To Carry A Knife?

If there was a command for the man to stop and he didn't then it was illegal. There are multiple ways to call it: obstruction, fleeing, eluding, but it is illegal. It is a misdemeanor and doesn't carry a death sentence, though.

Indeed, even if there is no command it's also not very smart to run form a cop... if there is a command to stop it is illegal. Either way it's ill advised yet not deserving of death.

Re: Illegal To Carry A Knife?

ANY cop that sees an individual suddenly get nervous upon spotting them, then running away, will chase that person down to see why they were running. It's a natural reaction. For all they know, that individual could have just committed a murder, and was worried about being caught. There's no way to know until they catch him/her. Having said that, I really want to know what happened to him while in police custody.

I'm all for standing behind law enforcement, but if there's foul play involved on their part, then it needs to be dealt with swiftly and decisively.

Also, they need to record down every evidence of rioting and arrest those vandals and looters. There is zero justification for doing so.
