Thaddaeus417...Matt 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
John 1:33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
Galatians 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.

Re: Who Is The Holy Spirit?

Well, that explains a few things.

Re: Who Is The Holy Spirit?
Sheila, I see a few things that you need to explain.
We can't pray in our own name. “Do all in the name of Jesus.” We are to pray in Jesus name.
Sheila wrote,
Quote:
He said that the spirit of truth would return to us/them--that He is in us and has always been married to us--Jeremiah 3:14
|
Until a person is born again, Repents, baptized in Jesus name, receives the Holy Ghost, they are a child of the Devil.
Quote:
John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it
|
.
And as Thad wrote, The Holy Ghost is the Spirit of Truth, the Comforter, the Spirit of Jesus, which also is the Spirit of God, as there is only one Spirit. Jesus was telling the Apostles, that He was at that time with them, but would be in them as the Holy Ghost.
God is Spirit
The Holy Ghost is God's Spirit.
Jesus is the only Body that we will ever see, sitting on the Throne.

Jesus is God. God is love. Do all in the name of love. We wouldn't even be alive if the spirit of love, life, breath and air didn't exist within--and always has. We are members of His flesh ( Ephesians 5:30)
We are only children of the devil when we follow our OWN ways, every man is responsible for his OWN sins and cannot blame the devil for anything. We are never children of the devils, we are always God's--just have to admit it and surrender our lives to His WAYS. These are the ways of love towards ALL others.
To be baptized is to RENEW and REGENERATE the holy spirit. ( Titus 3:5)
When I pray I'm the one doing the asking whether it's for me or another It's still for my desire--my name is asking.
The comfort of the truth--I am in you and have always been married to you--one with you (Zechariah)
Jesus IS the Father-( Colossians 1:15-20)--15--Who is the image of the invisible God, the firsborn of every creature (all flesh/Jesus)
16--For by Him were all things created(Jesus)that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him:
17--And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.
18--And He is the head of the body(Jesus) the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead(Jesus) that in Him all things might have preeminence(Jesus)
19--For it pleased the Father(Jesus) that in Him should all fullness dwell(not with one of us)
20--And having made peace through the blood OF HIS CROSS(Jesus), by HIM to reconcile all things UNTO HIMSELF(Jesus) by Him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
Pray to the Father(Jesus) in the name of the son--WE are the sons and daughters of God(Jesus) We don't have to pray to Jesus in the name of Jesus.
***Just pray Jesus, my Father this is Sheila asking you*****Amen
God is the head, brain and life of His body of believers and His name is Jesus.

12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. (Hebrews 3:7-12)

16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said:
“I will live with them
and walk among them,

17 Therefore,
“Come out from them
and be separate,
says the Lord.
Touch no unclean thing,
and I will receive you.”[d]
18 And,
“I will be a Father to you,
and you will be my sons and daughters,
says the Lord Almighty.”[e] (2Cor 6:16-18)

Would you please point out, in each of the scriptures you posted, where Jesus said "He would return as the Holy Ghost to indwell them"?
Thanks.

When does one become a child of the devil? I mean initially. How soon after birth?

I'm not sure what you're suggesting here. We, as Jesus was, are temples of the Holy Spirit.
You are aware that Jesus' Father and God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit?

Re: Who Is The Holy Spirit?
We are children of adversity not adversary. We come against once we become old enough to know that we can choose our own destiny. We tend to follow ourselves and what we want rather than following the heart and wisdom of love, forgiveness and charity for all. The ways of Christ.
