I think on a lot of these conspiratorial subjects it is best to research them and know the pros and cons to the argument. Preparation is always good to a degree in any situation regardless because history repeats itself.
Is the government stockpiling ammo? Could be. We can't know.

Found this article. The author has been careful with his reporting in other articles, so I have no reason to not believe what's reported here.
Running the Numbers; DHS Ammo Purchases

Re: Is DHS Stockpile A Bold Threat of War Against
More House members are inquiring into this and being immediately attacked. Apparently the charge of being a "Black Helicopter!" believer is the first thing leveled at anyone who even brings up this issue.
Reps challenge DHS ammo buys, say agency using 1,000 more rounds per person than Army

I tell ya what, with Emperor Obama on his Mount Olympus and Janet N and HIS cronies arming themselves to the teeth (for what? I thought LAW ENFORCEMENT, aka, the cops, were to enforce laws in America) I'M beginning to believe in "Black Helicopters!" myself!

Re: Is DHS Stockpile A Bold Threat of War Against
I don't believe DHS is stockpiling for war. I think they're purchasing these ridiculous amounts of ammo to put a backlog in the system and limit what's available to the ordinary citizen. Remember, Obama has stated time and again that his administration will do whatever it takes to "make America safe," and get some kind of gun control done. This is a brilliant way to do so. Not that I agree with it, no. I'm completely against it; but it's a way to get control without making Democrats in Congress vote and lose their seats.
Someone told me recently they were wanting to buy a gun, but with the ammo shortage, what good is a gun if you can't buy ammo.
Exactly.

I don't know about the conspiracy theories. Stranger things have happened and we'd be foolish to think that it couldn't happen here one day. However, what if the government knows something we don't? For example, we have a lot of enemies (both foreign and domestic) ceaslessly attempting to get WMDs. We have nation states threatening us with WMDs. If we were attacked and the United States fell into chaos... martial law would almost be necessary to keep society remotely stable. What if they are preparing for something they aren't telling us about?

They are preparing for martial law period. The reasons may be varied but the most likely will come with the economic collapse. No doubt even in the Obama administration there are some who realize that the national debt is unsustainable and well past the point of no return and at some point very soon will come crashing down. He's probably salivating over this considering he'll finally get everything he wants, TOTAL gun confiscation and his ultimate dream of being called Emperor.

Re: Is DHS Stockpile A Bold Threat of War Against
And whose fault is it all??? Those who vote for one of the two primary parties. The Republicans are the right hand of this problem... the Democrats are the left hand of this problem. Republicans want to drive the country off the cliff at a law abiding 55 mph. The Democrats want to dive the country off the cliff at a whopping 120 mph. Really, there is no difference. At the end, regardless as to which party has power, we're done for.
Vote Libertarian. The future of the country might depend on it.
