He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? Micah 6:8 KJV
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 1 John 3:2 KJV
He also housed drug addicts in his home. And sat with them for hours at a time as they went through withdrawals. He also ministered to gang members.
I've read a couple of David Wilkerson's books. Of course "The Cross and the Switchblade" plus one called (I think) "The Little People" and one called (I think) "The Untapped Generation." I also read Nicky Cruz's biography. This was back at the time we were taught that people like David Wilkerson and Nicky Cruz were not saved so neither were all the people they ministered to. I also read a book called "The Jesus Factor" by a journalist who investigated why the people in the Teen Challenge Program had such a high success rate compared to the secular drug programs. Some addicts were delivered immediately with no withdrawal effects. Others had to be held onto and prayed with as they went through hours of sweating, shaking, and throwing up on themselves.
BUT, remember, David Wilkerson, Nicky Cruz and these others holding onto those addicts going through withdrawal and all those addicts whose lives were radically transformed were all just a big waste of time because they are/were not really children of God like we Jesus' name people are and of course they can't be in the rapture or the Bride of Christ because they had the "wrong" words spoken when/if they got baptized in or with water.

I remember too, Sam.

I am a firm believer in the Old Paths
Articles on such subjects as "The New Birth," will be accepted, whether they teach that the new birth takes place before baptism in water and Spirit, or that the new birth consists of baptism of water and Spirit. - THE PENTECOSTAL HERALD Dec. 1945
"It is doubtful if any Trinitarian Pentecostals have ever professed to believe in three gods, and Oneness Pentecostals should not claim that they do." - Daniel Segraves

What a crock and I've seen it taken a step farther (like everything else) by our ex-pastor. According to him because The Cross and the Switchblade was turned into a movie... and while there had been many godly people in that movement who did not watch TV... they made an exception for this 'religious' movie. Which of course caused a spirit of movie and TV addiction to take them over and soon they were watching R and even X rated stuff and became totally depraved... and then they bought TVs... and then they were all lost (the ones who were never saved, you remember)... And that was the reason we should never break down and go see Passion Of The Christ... well that and because it was made by a dirty Catholic who didn't even know God.
When will the madness stop?
