Re: Now ya know why we got Obama

Voting may be a right, but when rights are abused...most peopel understand that maybe they need to be looked at and revised.

That is the whole point of the conversation. Voting rights are NOT being abused.

The GOP is wanting to add another layer of voting restrictions that will adversely affect certain blocks of voters. It is interesting how Republicans want the government to stay out of their business and not have any regulations until it is for something they feel strongly about.

No...in your opinion, as an Obama supporter whose ideology benefits from voter fraud, voting rights are not being abused.

I asked you to provide data that shows widespread voter fraud, and you could not. Obviously, you do not know of any voting rights being abused either, else you would have set me straight.

You are correct there. This place wouldn't be near as fun if we all sat around and agreed, lol.

Why would requiring an official photo ID suppress minorities from voting? Is this a documented fact or is this the default argument from those who are opposed to stricter voting requirements? Any living, legal citizen can get a state recognized photo ID card. Why would that be more difficult or abhorrent to a minority? I don't get the rationale.

It's a right for living, legal American citizens. It's not a right for anyone who has a face, name, or breathes air (or has a tombstone). We already restrict by law some folks from voting. What is the issue with verifying a voter is who he/she says he/she is?

This whole thread began with documented, video proof how easy it is to commit voter fraud and you dismiss the evidence. And they have dozens of videos like this. Here in Memphis in the eleven years I've been here I can recall just about every election a news report of local voter fraud. One year it was dead people voting. Another year it was someone using uninhabited addresses to establish residency and the right to vote in local elections.

Then why do you need to register to vote? And why keep track of who has voted. Just open it up to everyone and "trust" that everyone will only vote once.
Obviously there is some middle ground that has to be found here.
