Re: R. W. Shambach

Bro Schambach has always been a major inpiration to me. I use to listen to him on the radio and attended his Miami, FL meeting in 1971 and recieved the Holy Ghost there. The meeting lasted 10 days and I was able to attend just about every meeting. I was only 14 at the time, but his ministry stirred my spirit and I'd have to say it was Bro. Schambachs ministry that led me to accept the call of God to preach.

Two things happened in that meeting that will forever stand out in my mind:

I borrowed a dress. Thats right, I went from door to door asking women if I could borrow a dress. A backslidden woman said she would take me to the meeting if she had a dress to wear. So, I did what I thought any 14 year old boy would do- I went and found her a dress. And she attended- and was reclaimed to the Lord that very first nite- and continues to live for God to this day.

An Afro-American woman approached me one night and asked if I would escort her son into the mens roon. He was 8 or nine and had braces from his feet to his hips on both legs. He walked with the aid of crutches. I did as I was asked. Later that night, I saw that boys mom removing his braces and I saw him walk slowly, then run, across the platform, healed by the Power of God.

Bro. Schambach, how he will be missed, was right..."We don't have any trouble, all we need is faith in God!" My prayers and thoughts are for the Schambach family.

He prayed the prayer of Faith and instantly I was healed and God spoke to me and called me into the ministry. From that day I have preached, prayed and prophesied for 40 years in 61 nations. Brother Schambach was my HERO! He preached the Word without Fear or Favor. He wanted to lay hands on every person in the tent or auditorium every service. I was blessed to minister with him on many occasions and especially in the Tent in Harlem, NY. One night I saw 15 wheelchairs emptied in the Tent.
I thank God for this man of Faith that preached the Word of God to me and demonstrated the Power of God to millions. My two greatest Hero's are gone now - my Pastor - Bishop G.E. Patterson and my Preaching Mentor - Evangelist R.W. Schambach. I loved them both dearly and am a better man today for having them in my life.
What a fantastic testimony!!

I can't tell you how refreshing it is to come to AFF and read thru this thread and not hear even one negative comment about this fine man.

When I was about 12 or 13 years old, I got a transistor radio for Christmas. I would take that radio to bed with me, pull the pillow over my head and try to tune in stations from as far away as I could get them. Very, very often one of the programs that I could get - and I can't tell you where it was from - but I know it was RW Schambach because he would say it at the end of the program every time. I was so entranced by what he was saying. There was a power in his words that I was missing when I attended our little church week after week. I just attributed it to the fact that I had to sneak to hear him. LOL Maybe I was wrong, tho!

Re: R. W. Shambach

Thanks for all the good comments about Bro. Schambach. We saw him back in the 70's in Ft. Lauderdale. He had just bought some truck cabs and rolled them right into the tent.
Powerful services. My husband was saved in A.A. Allen's services back in the mid 60's. Preaching the gospel today. Only Heaven will reveal all the good from these generals of the faith.
ATLANTA BISHOP: Love your comments and testimonies. We love your pastor and listen to him all that we can. Great man of God...

Re: R. W. Shambach

He was a great preacher indeed.

I disagree with him on alot doctirnally, but I did love listening to him and A.A. Allen. My mother was a COGIC organist for a long time when I was a child and was hired to play for a Full Gospel church when I was around 4 or 5 until I was about 9. He was very highly regarded in the Full Gospel movement as well as Leroy Jenkins and them.

When I was saved later on in life, I went back and became an ardent listener of Shambach. Even though I'm still a three stepper...

Could have been the 100,000 watt station, across the border from Del Rio, Texas ... XERF, Ciudad Acuña Coahuila, Mexico with the announcer Paul Kellinger, "your good neighbor along the way!"

This is the station where one preacher sent out "autographed pictures of the Lord Jesus Christ!" for a small donation.

Bro Schambach was a great preacher and a great man of God.

I would listen to Brother Schambach and many others on that station. Brother Stair, Pastor David Epley, David Nunn, Rev. Ike, Bishop S. McDowell Shelton and many others. As I traveled late at night from revival to revival I could pick up that station and listen to an endless stream of preachers. It was quite entertaining!

Did you ever order one of those "autographed pictures of the Lord Jesus Christ?"

Wasn't Bishop S. McDowell Shelton the minister that followed Bishop S. C. Johnson, Founder of The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, Inc.?

No, I never ordered anything from any of them except I did get a few of Brother Schambach's tapes and books. Bishop Shelton did succeed Bishop Johnson and I listened to both of them late at night on radio. They were my first introduction to "Oneness". I was NOT impressed! LOL Bishop Johnson would say - "If I did not baptize you - You were NOT baptized!" LOL

Did you ever hear L. Hunter? Randolf Goodwin? They came out of Bishop Johnsons movement. My favorite to catch on the air was David Terrel. He became Oneness somewhere along the line.
