Would it be an add-on if I haven't added anything new in a long time? Or could it be an ad-on that had an update?

Thanks, Prax. I'll read the link.

Re: How do I correct this?

It might have been an active X plug in you clicked "install" on when you visited a website and it required you install the active x in order to view the site.

Or your settings are set to automatically install active x and you did not know

Oh! Thanks! I wouldn't have known that. I've been reading so much news, lately, I was kind of hoping my computer would crash.

I didn't uninstall FireFox. I updated to a newer version and it took care of the problem.

The only other problem I am having is that I have my weather forecast add-on still listed, after the update, but it's not showing on the screen. My husband needs that every day before he leaves the house for work. He hits the little green globe and it gives him a three-day forecast and the radar. He needs to see the current conditions and which way the wind is blowing. Don't know what happened there.

I just finished doing that and re-starting. It's not showing up on my screen anywhere. It used to be on the bottom of the screen where the time shows.

And it's a fire fox add in? Or is it a component of google desktop? Or windows side bar?
