I know the Ballesteros...to some he would be quite liberal...they are like the rest of us...just humans...I never read his blogs other than one day someone called me and felt he was talking about me...read that one and sent him a note...I hardly have time to post anymore let along read people´s blogs...He was a very close friend of my brother in law. His father wrote a very interesting book.

Please, say a prayer for me today...thanks...love and blessings...

Re: Ballestero's Holymess god lives in YESTERDAY .

I believe DA that you may have some valid discussion points, but your attitude in which you posted this is as bad as what you are accusing Bro. Ballestero of.
This is basically the problem that I have with some posters and this whole internet forum thing...
Rather than putting up a post encouraging discussion or opinion, we tend to let our human emotions cause us to go on the attack or defensive.
I know that I do this myself.
DA, hopefully you do not see this as an attack on you, but rather as a call to civility, even when others are seen as being uncivil.
I know that I risk the wrath of your fingers, but hopefully you will receive this in the spirit which I sent it!

Dan, they are good people and I know you know that but sometimes when we post it doesn´t always come out like we meant it. I am sure you are not attacking him personally but a doctrine that you disagree with.

Remember in all our disagreements on any given subject we must keep our hearts pure...
love you Dan and we listen to your sister sing all the time...She has such a pretty voice.

I once posted on a forum about people that hurt us...afterwards I have always regretted some of the things I said...not because they were untrue for what I said was truth and a whole lot more truth could have been expressed...However I felt bad about what I said for the Lord is looking on and he knows how to separate things...

Re: Ballestero's Holymess god lives in YESTERDAY .

Bro Ballestero is a fine Christian man who is about as balanced as they come....hardly the raving extremist that I am sure DA would like to portray him (and anybody that believes in Holiness standards) as....

DA continues his disgusting habit of spending his time scouring the internet trying to find ammo to use against traditional OP's....the impression I get from him is that he is eaten up by a root of bitterness that manifests itself with his unhealthy preoccupation with and hatred for the UPC....

Get over it Dude....

As usual the "Old Paths" are primarily dress code for the ladies!!! This is the same mode of operation in Sharia Law, instead of dealing with the responsibility of men to grow up and control their hormones, the ladies must be covered up!!! Men are attracted to women no matter how much they are covered, the imagination is very powerful. Therefore, men must create personal boundaries that establish limits to the wandering eye, and our imaginative powers!! As I have stated many times Muslim men are some of the most sexually pervert men alive, in spite of the scarf and the burka.

Modesty is good and reasonable, problem is that statement simply starts the arguments about what is modest.

Re: Ballestero's Holymess god lives in YESTERDAY .

I can't speak for Dan, but I don't think he has a root of bitterness growing.

My wife some times asks me why I hang out here and why do I care what the UPC is doing. We have not gone to a UPC church since the early 1960's when we started going to an ALJC church. We have not been part of that ALJC church since 1978 or so and have been members of a couple trinity churches since the nineteen nineties. I am ordained in one of the Church of Jesus Christ organizations which goes back to 1927 and am also ordained in our local church which is trinity.

Why do I care what goes on in the UPC?
Well, the UPC is the most visible and the largest OP organization that I am familiar with. As the UPC goes, so goes much of the OP's. It bothers me to see what the UPC has become from its beginnings in 1945 with a tolerant gentlemen's agreement based on the fundamental doctrine statement to what I perceive it to be today. It has grown large and powerful; the ministers are growing old and young ministers are not joining; it has become very controlling; it requires more and more money to feed and maintain the monster; it has passed on a form of revisionist history to the people and they think that only the current UPC party line is really "Apostolic"; in some ways they have their head stuck up their posterior and are living in an imaginary world; it is desperately thrashing around trying to maintain control and status quo as it becomes more and more out of touch with reality; many are hung up over "the good old days" that never were really that good; it has become more ingrown and isolated; it has become an unwieldy, bloated, top heavy religious/political organization; it has a "bunker mentality" of "us vs. them"; I could probably say more but I better get off my soapbox.

Two things I see when I look at the UPC.
1. a Frankenstein type creation that was originally created with good intentions but has developed into an out of control monster fighting, and destroying anyone or anything in its pathway.
2. a victim who was descending from Jerusalem to Jericho who fell among thieves that left it wounded, naked, bleeding, and half dead.

God has been very patient. His Train of Truth keeps coming back to the "apostolic" train station, and every now and then some realize that staying at the station prevents them from moving on. Get out of the station and get on the Train!
