Pretty sure there won't be any racists making it on that day! But I think I know what you mean, Cindy. The true church has no racism in it, and we'll all be free from it on that day.
I've always been so amazed at how so many christians - even folks in our circles - hold onto racist sentiments and attitudes. It's sickening!

I think there will be former racist in heaven...racism isn't just born out of hatred it is born from ignorance and sometimes bad experiences.
To the boy who was bussed to a white school, had crosses burned in his yard, beat up, and was repeatedly referred to in derogatory terms all by people he called white...that's not going to go away overnight.
The poor white kid that lives in the ghetto and is treated as a second class citizen because of his skin color learn to associate that with a race of people.
The kid who is raised on a farm and told all his life that other races are ignorant or stupid has a form of racism that even time and education doesn't always wipe away.
The young black man that is raised by a grandfather that has learned to hate whites because of the way he was treated invests that hatred into his grandson, and no matter how much we educate people in these positions their is always a residual amount of those beliefs left.
Look at the way people react when they are angry or drunk in relation to race, things they would never say otherwise come spewing out.
Racism isn't simple and the truth is no matter how much we deny it many Americans still struggle with racism.

I would never vote for nor support anyone I know to be a racist. I have no knowledge of any President making racist comments since I began voting. If I did hear of it, I would raise my white voice soon and often. The reason Edwin Edwards - a known crook at the time and later convicted and imprisoned - ever saw his first term as Louisiana's Governor is because he was running against David Duke and white conservatives like me would not stand for a Klansman as governor. The case against the New Black Panther Party members had been won. Because they failed to appear in court, the judge ruled them guilty. I don't know all the technical terminology surrounding that, perhaps Baron can help there. Anyway, All that was left to do was sentence them and issue arrest warrants and Holder dropped the charges and closed the case.

Interesting questions.
1. I'm not sure about the individual levels of hatred and racism among the members of these organizations, but I will say that I think over time the KKK has had more impact and acts of violence and oppression than the Black Panthers. I may be wrong, but in my opinion, the KKK affected the lives of Blacks more directly than the Black Panthers affected Whites. This may have had something to do with the fact that they were parts of the real power system in some parts of our country.
2. I personally don't believe that the Tea Party is rooted in racism like many do. However, I think that the comparisons are interesting. The Tea Party movement is a by-product of real and perceived injustices and infringements on peoples' rights. Do you think that the real and perceived injustices and infringements of rights that led to the formation of the NAACP and other organizations were more or less than what led to the formation of the Tea Party.
3. Not intimately familiar enough with either to say.
No doubt I would agree on #1. I thought the question was in recent history or present tense.

To me, this is the same as the doctored tapes aired pertaining to ACORN. They were later shown to be severely edited and deceiving. Slander and deception are the same, no matter where it comes from.
