Sounds like he needs to get into a treatment center and get sober. That is what many of our folks do before they come into our houses, they go into a treatment center first and then come to a sober living home. But they have to want the help first.
He did go with his Dad to the hospital, while the older son went back to the ship, and was trying to decide if he should stay with the ship, or go be with his Dad.

Did the older son ever join his dad? I stopped watching after the part where one of the ship hands was encouraging the older son to go to his dad- It was so powerful what he was telling that young man.

He was telling him you need to go to your dad just in case he dies you will never have a chance to see him again- I was like wow. They didn't even know then he was going to die.

it was a really cool moment. that was covered again last night in the After the Catch show.

He told Josh, "the crab will be here, you cannot catch another dad"

I know it was an amazing bit of footage. I was loudly saying at the TV screen- "Go!"

I have been a casual watcher in the past. Generally I have watched reruns when nothing else was on or as background noise.

Having been at sea in the Navy, I certainly understand the Ocean and what these guys go thru. What they do is unbelieveable. I have seen enough episodes to get a sense of the main players on the ships and I have huge respect for the work they do.

About a month ago, I caught a new episode and got a since that something was going terribly wrong. This is a reality show that has more real reality than any other show out there. All I can say is wow.
Awesome show. This one and I Shouldn't Be Alive are great time-fillers.

I believe this is their last episode right now.

My own naval experience has taught me the safest place to be on the ocean is under it. They should do a spin-off on New England lobstermen

I think you're right. It is just amazing to me what these people go through for a short time, once a year.

Re: Deadliest Catch?

How about the lastest show "whale wars"? Just more adventure on the high seas-as if there wasn't enough already. But oddly enough I am drawn to it anyway.

Re: Deadliest Catch?

We'll be visiting the Pawn Shop guys tomorrow afternoon. We're going to the downtown area (Freemont street) in Vegas and their store is only about a 20 minute walk from the Gold Nugget hotel where we're staying.
