Re: Water, Water Everywhere!!
Well, it ain't over yet.
Just talked to someone at the Sheriff's dept.... apparently the Hatchie River is supposed to crest on Thursday. The flood waters are already as high now as we've ever seen it --when Kara was born 17 years ago. It hasn't been this high since that time... we're looking at record breaking flood waters on the rise tonight-- and for a few more days yet. Let's pray that our house is high enough up on this hill!!
Two of our exits out of here are flooded-- one of the roads has water across the road that is approximately 10-12 ft deep at least. There's one other cut-through path to get out, that had about 6 inches of water flowing across it this morning, but the ditches have been cleaned out today-- hopefully that will help keep it from flooding again.
The lady I spoke with at the sheriff's dept said that my road IS on the list where they are sending officers to tomorrow to ask people to consider evacuation. I guess I'll know tomorrow what the officials think about the hill I live on by whether we get asked to evacuate. I doubt they will-- but if they do, you can count on me packing up what we need and getting out. I'm not having the snakes from the hatchie Swimming around in my house with ME in it.

For Tamor-- Here are some photos found on facebook of flooding in Corinth MS. Don't plan on shopping there anytime real soon. Hopefully the link will work.

I saw photos of KMart & Kroger earlier. Merchandise was floating in the parking lots of the stores. Stores were over knee deep in water inside. If I can find them again, I'll add a link.

Re: Water, Water Everywhere!!
Hope everyone is ok. I was watching the weather channel yesterday and saw the pictures of flooded roads and homes.
Twice I've lived in a city that received 10+" of rain in a day, so I've seen that type of damage before. It's always amazing that water is reponsible for so much "mess".

Re: Water, Water Everywhere!!
Authorities were saying today that it was a 500 year flood! Unbelievable!

These are amazing. I've seen some others on facebook too. Tabo lives in Corinth and she said it was awful.

Re: Water, Water Everywhere!!
I'm in Belize, but I just heard that Opryland Hotel (where the JCM reunion was just held) has six feet of water in it. The water is up to the railings on the Cascade Restaurant!!
They said our river in Jackson was 50 feet above the 100 year flood line, whatever that means!!
