Owning all of the latest gadgets is definitely worldliness.

Defintiely. lol
But all joking aside, here is worldliness, but we won't hear this preached in many places:
Colossians 2:20-22 KJV Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, (21) (Touch not; taste not; handle not; (22) Which all are to perish with the using; ) after the commandments and doctrines of men?

That's not an often quoted portion of scripture, that's for sure.

Ah, but if you equate latest gadgets with traditions in other areas and aspects, you don't have to own them ALL to be worldly... just a few will do. But it has to be the right few... don't touch the sacred cow!
Sorry, I saw some very annoying hypocrisy this weekend. Sarcasm level is way off the scale today.

Exactly. I'm not knocking him for collecting them... it's just not something I'd want to do.
I spent a huge amount of money and invested hundreds of hours into a ceramic painting/collecting hobby several years ago. I purchased hummingbirds, and indian stuff and did all the handpainting and detailing myself. Now, I am cleaning out my house of most of it--except for what will fit into a couple of curio cabinets, because I hate to dust it all--and not dusting it would just make the allergies we have worse. It just makes me sick now to know that what I have possibly a few thousand dollars in, might bring $100 for the church thrift store when I donate the items.
The same could be said for my husband's aquarium hobby/business he's had for the last 20 years. Thousands of dollars invested, that he'll never recover now that he's ready to reduce the hobby down to one aquarium.

I know some people that have a watch in every color or design you can imagine-- and coordinate them with whatever they happen to be wearing every day. To each their own I guess....
I wear a $6 watch that I found on a clearance rack. It is sterling silver plated, so it matches anything I choose to wear. Nothing fancy, just something to tell me the time--and I'm perfectly happy with it. When it dies, I hope I am blessed to be able to find another one for $6.

This is why I like my Hawaiian-shirt-patterned designer watches. They go with literally every pair of pants I own, and really set off a white belt!
