In my home church we had a couple who changed churches and began attending.
Their old pastor was known for never giving anyone permisson to leave for any reason.
In this case, he had told this couple, "yea I say unto thee, if you leave this church your children will die".
The mother/wife was very upset by this prophecy. They spoke to my old pastor about this. He asked her if that was all that was bothering her. He then told her, "yea I say unto thee, thy children shall not die".
He then said that we will see who is the false prophet.
Needless to say it was not him....

He was not a false prophet, he didn't say when. Everyone will eventually die if they don't go in the rapture!!

If a person leaves the church because they are moving, that is right. If a soul leaves a church because the church preaches false doctrine, that is right. If a soul leaves a church because of illegal activites, then that is right.
However, I have found most leave churches because of flesh. They do not get their way, and they decide the more 'liberal' church across town is where they should be. When they get there, they bad mouth the old pastor and church for being legalistic and in bondage, even using the word abuse. This is what I have found out for amny who leave conservative Apostolic churches for liberal laodicean churches.

I think God gave most of us good sense...think before you join! I repeat if a pastor no matter conservative or liberal used scare methods I would not like to be a part of something like that.
I know people that go to liberal churches that are conservative! I know people that are liberal that go to conservative churches also...so it is a matter of trust...We once had a bunch of people come from a neighboring church wanting to join ours because they saw the light on some subject...Brother Alvear told them just keep going to your church and live what you believe...
Many times people just want to change just for more attention...that is when we need wise pastors!
