Are you kidding? How much money do the Arab countries make off their oil and they can't raise the quality of life for their country and their brothers? The vast majority of the funds given to them goes to military aid. It would bankrupt their economy to have the defenses Israel must have in order to protect their 10 million people from the 250 million enemies that surround them.

I agree that foreign policy should not be made on a biblical belief that is speculation. This debate is interesting. I want only the facts of what is really happening over there. How many of us really know what is going on there? The main thing that gives me pause is Islamic Jihad.....I am scared of that, frankly. It speaks of a spirit that permeates Islamic teachings and nations. So, what is the truth? Who has been on the short end of the stick? I really don't know what the answer is.

I think that the beginning of the answer is for more us to realize that we don't know what the answer is. When we come to the table preloaded with the answer then we are blind already.

Yes, I agree with that. We can't say, "Well, Israel is God's chosen people, so we have to support them!" That is ignorant. God is on the side of right and of truth no matter who practices it.

The thing that creeps me out about Obama more than anything is his voting record on abortion. I read a few times that he voted to allow a baby born alive to die if it had been a botched abortion. The cultic following he has also creepes me out. Being called the Messiah by Loius Farrakhan doesn't win him any brownie points.

I don't know that his biblical understanding is speculation. It is my belief that politics is driven by all kind of beliefs most of which are seen from one's religious beliefs. [ ie radical islam, and even our candidates try to run on a faith based platform.] I try to vote based on my understanding of scripture.

Stew, I would say we should ignor Jesse on this if it werent for some very interesting things that parallel.
Frist, Obama made comments about Jerusalem being the capital of Israel to a Jewish group then shortly afterwards when talking to a muslim delegation bascially told them not to worry about that.
Obama has a very long and close relationship with Rasheed Khalidi an American who is ethinically palistinian and is a professor at Columbia University.
He has written a number of books on Palistine and among his comments are things like calling Palisinitan suicide bombers patriots.
Obama has publically thanked him for helping him understand the palistininan issue.
Third, the American Social Justice movement which Barak Obama has long been a part, has taken up the Palistinian cause against Israel.
given those facts (and those are actual real facts) It seems to me that Jesse Jackson is speaking with some authority here.

I think most thoughts on the endtime are speculation. Rarely, they may be revelation, but usually they are traditional beliefs that have been developed over a long period of time. I also vote based on my understanding of scripture. But I also know it is my understanding. I am saying that foreign policy should be made with facts in mind and not as a kneejerk response to what we belief is scripture. But, none of us (most likely) are in a position to do this anyway. I am simply trying to point out that we should consider the facts and not make assumptions based on our beliefs.
