True the Bible does not state that a man cannot wear shorts. It does not state that a person can not smoke. It does speak of markings on the body and following the world. Standards are different from church to church. The Bible is clear on one thing. 1 Peter 2:9, But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.
As a child of God you should stand out from the rest of the world. You should not be as one of them. Does that mean you're not to talk to them? No. Be friends but let your light shine bright for all to see.
1 Peter 5:8, Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.

I think more could be accomplished if the inward man stood out and was reflecting Jesus Christ. Jesus did not look so different from his generation by look but he certainly did by ACTIONS.
