Re: Are you Catholic or Protestant?

I am predominately Protestant - I answered Question 7 as a "Catholic" (did everyone else press the "Reveal" button to see their actual results?)

I was kinda surprised this was a "Catholic" response, given that it speaks of living by God's grace!! Oh, well!! It must be leftover from my Catholic grandfather who was excommunicated from his family when he became a Pentecostal - preacher - of all things.!!

Re: Are you Catholic or Protestant?

What are you if you find that neither A nor B is correct on some of them?

Predominately prostestant is how it scored me, I still think some of the answers should have come with, "none of the above" as a choice.

I agree. So I just went with the closest to what I thought was correct.

I bet I can make a test where I ask "Are you catholic or Mormon" and make everyone here a mormon.

Not all protestants during the protestant reformation were 100% against works or baptism as a salvific issue. So I suspect this test is somewhat biased.....and so is Gillespie

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Stop spoiling the fun.

So, Praxeas. Are you advocating works as part of salvation?

I have read somewhere that some folks think that Pentecostalism will bridge the gap between the Catholics and Protestants and possibly reunite the two.
