The second reason resonates w/ me ... I've realized that some will not self-assess their approach as they will justify it with ..."Well I'm just preaching the truth" while never examining how our presentation can be do or die for some.

Where do you go from here? When my pastor came to this realization back in 1990, he had to disfellowship with the UPC because he could not sign a paper agreeing with all the "holiness standards" of the UPC. It was one of the hardest things he ever had to do.

God can repair potential "eternal damage".

Here's my observation from reading this thread so far:

I have not read anything that contradicts what I have been studying for over a decade regarding the Jewish roots of Christianity and Judaism itself.

It's sobering and embarrassing when some of these truths begin to hit you square in the heart. I remember how it made me feel when the "light" began to come on.

My memories also give me patience when dealing with "Pharisees" today and unfortunately, they do exist. There may even be one or two hanging around AFF. For a good read, get, "We Are The Pharisees." Chapter 1 will blow you away. The author is Kathleen Kern. Amazon has it used for $1!

The same thing happened to me a few years later.
