WEC looses around $500,000.00 dollars every General Conference. They are very expensive to put on. I will explain a little of the logistics of how everything works.
GC is paid for out of the WEC fund. Each division pays for its own expenses. They also pay a very large fee to the WEC fund for their service times.
Still, money is lost every year. If you have never been involved with hosting a conference of this size then you have no idea of the cost involved.
It is not illogical to charge a registration fee. Almost every other denomination or organization does this. The largest UPCI conference held is the General Youth Conference where a registration fee is also charged.
I don't know if anyone has mentioned but visitors will not be charged. They will be given a special pass. However, everyone else will have to register and pay.

Bro,
I understand that it takes money to run the show, and if it was just business meetings and such I would not have a problem. But we are charging folks to hear preaching!! And that just aint right.
Maybe they need to cut back on the show, since they cannot afford it. They seem to be living beyond their means, and that means they are not being good stewards of their money.
