The $4,000 deductible explains some of the low premium and the fact that the government pays $3,000 of that deductible. Now..hmmmmm....I wonder where the government is getting that $3,000 - wait let me guess - somebody's tax dollars!
Even with the $4000 deductible I am willing to bet your insurance premium is being subsidized.

You do understand that when the uninsured get medical care and don't pay... that cost, the fees, and administration costs are passed down to us in higher premiums don't you?
Unless we restrict medical care to only those who are insured we're going to be paying for the uninsured. At least in a national health insurance plan everyone pays SOMETHING toward their health insurance.
And compared to McCain's plan...Obama's will actually bring the least change to the system overall. McCain's plan breaks up regional insurers, lifts premium caps carried among the states, takes away the tax deduction for businesses covering employees, businesses will drop group plans, and employed Americans will be issued $2,500 to buy their own insurance on the open market. This will not be enough to cover those with pre-existing serious illnesses, the elderly, or those with expensive prescription medication unless the government regulates prices and subsidizes these individuals. It is feared that the number of the uninsured will grow significantly. That will drive our premiums through the roof.
If the question was between keeping our current system or Obama's most of you guys would have a point to consider. But McCain's plan will bring extensive changes to how Americans are insured taking employers out of the mix entirely and shifting the majority of coverage costs to the individual.

Picking a U.S. President: Voices From the Arab World
Obama Emerges as the Middle East Favorite for future U.S. president.

They may not have a vote, but civic-minded people in the Middle East are watching the U.S. presidential race closely, and some have already chosen their favorite candidate.
"My favorite is unquestionably Sen. [Barack] Obama. He presents a new face of America to the Middle East, and to the world at large," Hafed Al Ghwell, a Libyan-American with the Dubai School of Government, told ABC News.......

Don't you understand there's a lot to this. I know a couple who own Cedars of Lebanon, a Lebanese restaurant near my home. They are also Pro-Obama. I asked them about why so many in the Middle East support Obama. They explained how so many of them are worried about extremists in their countries and right wing extremists in our country expanding their wars because they don't want their lives shattered by conflict and their children recruited by Muslim extremists.
If you lived over there...you'd be for Obama too. Because another Bush would guarantee that the Muslim authorities would try to recruit your kids for the continued conflict.
Obama is pretty popular in Europe too because they don't want another wreckless American President launching more unsustainable wars.

Re: Barak Obama Clinches Democratic Nomination
Glad your Muslim neighbors like him, but the article was about Muslims in the MIDDLE EAST.
If you had taken the time to actually read the article you would see it is from JAN 2008 when there was a FULL field of Democrats and Republicans, liberals and conservatives !!!
AND he was choice NUMBER ONE by MIDDLE EASTERNERS among every single person running.
Please don't blow smoke and say it was a comparison between him and Bush.
He is the most muslim friendly candidate in the history of the United States.

So while he may not be a Muslim he has Islamic influence all over him. His dad was a Muslim and he attended a Muslim school for two years in Jakarta.
I don't believe he is one now but he cetainly has exposure and possibly, probably sympathy's with them.

And the first to admit he was a druggie. Oh, I forgot Bill. but he didn't inhale.

You sound like liberal Democrat talking heads now. You are being absurd. Why because he epxresses concern over Obama's muslim past and family connections do you then think he wants a President that hates Muslims?
Crazy.
GWB has attended Mosques, honored Muslims in many ways I dont approve of but I supposed he "hates Muslims" in your mind?
You are displaying a simplistic thought process that is not logical or accurate.
To hate "terrorists" and to go to war against "terror" means you are targeting those who practiice "terrorism". If the ones practicing terrorism are extremist Muslims then that is who you are at war with. You don't "hate" Muslimes, you hate the evil ones practicing terrorism and the evil ones promoting radical Islam. (I am not speaking here about the Iraq war in the sense of why we went in, I am talkin about the war on terror in General which is being waged also in Iraq against Al Quda)

Re: Barak Obama Clinches Democratic Nomination
One of the things I admire about GWB is his openenss when speaking about his past weaknersses. Just this past week I saw a video clip of him speaking at a College graduation and he spoke about how for a time alcohol had a hold on him and how he was able to change that with Gods help.. I can't remember his exact words but it was very moving.
