An unsaved friend of mine that I work with said something funny about this once. He said that if we want them to stop having intercourse we need to allow them to get married…because out in the world intercourse stops after marriage. LOL

We vote for men with theological discrepancies all the time. McCain’s personal beliefs were on par with Obama’s back when he called Falwell and those in the religious right “agents of hate”. While Obama and I may have theological differences, Obama isn’t gay and his religious views are part of his “civil rights” views that advocate for legal fairness to all Americans be they gay, straight, saint, or sinner. McCain “says” he believes like us…but he had multiple affairs and left is wife of 14 years for the little blonde floozy he’s currently with.

This is an issue of orthodoxy (right doctrine) vs. orthopraxy (right living). While Obama doesn’t hold orthodoxy (neither does McCain really), he passes the orthopraxy test. While McCain passes the orthodoxy test (technically he doesn’t because he’s an idol worshipper because of his Trinitarianism), he fails the orthopraxy test. (Technically McCain fails BOTH tests if we hold him to Apostolic Doctrine.) Now it depends on the individual voter here. What’s more important? For some all that matters is that the politician “says” he believes in the “orthodox” things and it frankly doesn’t matter to them what he does or what kind of personal character he has. For others, such as myself, they are willing to disagree on the finer points of belief and doctrine, however they want the politician to model more upright character. Obama may not believe exactly like we do…but he’s twice the man McCain could ever be because he’s never abandoned his family. Coming from a broken home, I know how damaging that is and I have absolutely NO respect for that.

Obama and I may disagree on a couple issues, but he’s got far more character than the phony McCain.
