You missed my point for sure- do u think for one minute that ANYONE believes it is all about standards- who is one to judge whether we really want to give our all or not- this walk is a personal walk and a little guidance to not remove landmarks is always good. This is definately not all about standards for sure.

I prefer to love , respect and discuss Christ than speak ill of organizations, my brother or get off on a limb of all about standards.

By far the most controversial topic of conversation between my peers during my involvement with the UPC was regarding standards. We bantered and countered and compared and debated and fussed and just about talked the issue to death.

Seems it is still the most controversial issue. Seems the Oneness Doctrine is not the dividing issue. But "Holiness Standards" as stated in the UPCI manual have been dividing good folks for years.

The reason, IMHO for this is the ambiguity of what constitutes "Holiness" as set forth in this "sacred document" -- There really is no STANDARD of holiness, as it varies from pastor to pastor, church to church, district to district. And it depends on which "club" your pastor has hitched his wagon to as to which of the standards are most important or what emphasis is placed on skirt length, TV watching, etc.

It's confusing. God is not the author of confusion.

To reword the manual's Standards of Holiness would be a great relief to many who just don't get it. A broader statement encouraging believers to use Holy Ghost discernment regarding making moral choices as to the movies they watch, or TV programs viewed, dressing in a modest fashion, etc. could make all the difference. Perhaps all the acrimony would be dissolved by dispensing with the laundry list and in agreeing that Christians should live in a manner that brings glory and honor to the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

It's good that he's hitting this hard, but even more frankness is needed.

UPC leaders have a tendency to talk/communicate to their constituents like children; even T. F. Tenney was guilty of this at times.

And it IS rather condescending to pass this Tulsa thing off as just not much when it really is a major battle - one that has the potential to make the "Latter Rain" look small.

Haney should take it a step further and publicize just WHO among the Tulsa roster told him their names were used without their permission.

Where does Haney go from here?

If these guys are determined to be an "organization within an organization" then it's time to evoke the spirit of C. G. Weeks or V. A. Guidroz.

Those guys ruled the Louisiana and Texas Districts with iron fists.

Weeks or Guidroz would make it plain to Godair, Wilson and company that you are either all the way out or all the way in.

Of course, in the sixties and seventies they ruled from a position of strength.

Haney, as I see it, is in a position of relative weakness.

I'm certain the UPC is in a bit of financial precariousness - at least as far as continuing to have a bloated central structure with highly paid, full-time executives living relatively cushy lifestyles.

Will Haney be willing for the UPC to get "lean and mean" and show these Tulsa guys the door?

Time will tell, I guess.

This Tulsa thing is the culmination of the virus started primarily in the Western District over the last couple decades where men were so "holy" they had their own camps and conferences but still remained a part of the UPC.

So Haney hit this harder than I thought he would although more is needed.

But with KH pretty much taking the gloves off and flashing some knuckles, this should make some interesting dinner conversation around the table with bro-in-law Nate Wilson.

Are you staying in the UPC, Whole?

I am just curious...and for my edification, do you place the Words of Paul on the same level of divineness, importance, weight, value and significance as that of Jesus himself? Whatever your answer might be, could you give scripture reference for that idea?

Thank you.

Do you agree with advertising on television?

It is interesting to me that you would want to stay...you seem so against the Organization and it's leaders.

Confusing!
