Psalm 150
1Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.
But only if no practices have been done first.
2Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.
Making sure that you haven't said those things before, lest it be seen as repetitious and practiced.
3Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.
Just pick those items up and start blowing and strumming!
4Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.
Just go jammin on the B3 without regard to who it belongs to or if you can even play it, just jam already!
Oh, and the dance, just be sure to take your flesh off as to truly dance in the Spirit!
Stringed instruments? Anyone can play the guitar and violin! Nothing to it. If you know how to play, that means you have practiced, and practiced praise isn't allowed!
5Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.
Be sure and pick up both sticks and beat away! Nobody will mind because you are praising God!
6Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.
That's right. And it doesn't matter if the preacher is taking prayer requests or preaching, because praise cannot be orderly nor practiced, so just have at it!

Seems like it's becoming the "new thing". I don't know where on earth some of this is going but I'm not going. No way!
Oh I see...you must be one of those supporters of the "human helicopter" dance that is so common among apostolics. But Lord forbid if any dancing be done "decently and in order"....exceptions made for other forms of worship like choirs, special singing, and Christmas and Easter plays of course. We all know these must be "practiced" and/or directed.

My point, Heavenly, is that some of our churches are looking more like clubs than houses of worship. Jews use learned dances as forms of worship, but it is what they are taught from their youth, not something they picked up from the local club or dance studio.
Where did those apostolic "step" routines originate?

True. Dancing to Jew were a natural expression NOT a corregraphed performance.

I'm not Heavenly One and she can most certainly answer for herself but I'll add my two cents anyway.
Dancing was first mentioned in the bible here....
Ex 32:19 -
And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing: and Moses' anger waxed hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands, and brake them beneath the mount.
If "origin" is going to be used as an argument against something, then most certainly dancing originated in the scriptures as worship around an idol.

Jehoshaphat didn't seem to have a problem with "choreographed" praise...
2 Chronicles 20:21-22
20 And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper. 21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever. 22 And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.
