Blessing and blessings and blessings have flowed the last 2 months here in Brazil. I hardly know where to begin but think I will start out with last Sunday. Right before we came to the states in Oct. our son Pastor Ednei divided our area into two districts because the work is growing so fast. He asked me to take Murcei and a couple farm areas and see what we could do.
I went to the tiny Murcei church and in the first service I was there we had around 20. Last Sunday night we had over 60 present. We had our first business meeting and I talked with them and the ones that joined district two helping them organize different departments. While we were organizing Sister Marcela took the young people and they hands out over 700 tracts.
I asked Brother Chad Thomas (our son in law) if he felt to work there with us. Those of you that know Brother Chad know how timid and bashful he is so we are seeing victory in many areas in his life also. He will be the pastor and in time we plan to put a national in but right now they are all babes in Christ.

We attended our annual convention in Campinas (south central) Brazil and it was in my opinion the best convention we have ever had. There was so much unity and such a burden for souls was present to every meeting. Several receive their calling into the ministry and Brother Alvear ordained around 20 new ministers.

From the convention in Campinas we traveled to the far inland convention in Bahia and stayed for the dedication of one new church. Oh, what growth and stability we found. In the night hours I wept thanking the Lord for all that He has done in that witchdoctor infested area of the desert. It has been a long upward journey but now we are seeing growth and expansion there. Those of you who have been to that area of Bahia with us know how hard it is in that far corner tucked away from everything!

We also were in the youth congress in Alagoas state. Brother Raul Jr was the special speaker and needless to say they had power packed services with close to 30 receiving the Holy Ghost.

Pastor Hugo just returned from trips to Minas Gerias, Mato Grosso and Paraguay. Next week Brother Alvear and I will be traveling to the regional convention in Minas Gerias. The people in that state are so anxious for us to get there.

We have several churches now roofed through your help and building on more. Thanks for remembering us especially this time of the year!

Chad writes:

When I left the house it was a beautiful day. I went to get the weed eater from the maintenance shop and stopped at the post office to get some things that had arrived for missions. When I was leaving it started to rain. It wasn’t just a little rain but it was like a monsoon. In a matter of minutes the roads started to fill with water. My brother-in-law called me and told me that He just made it out and that I would have to go another way to get home because the water had already risen to the point where it was impassable. I began to go the other direction when my car couldn’t take it anymore. Water had got into the motor. I found myself literally floating in my car along with several other vehicles. I became very worried. The water was on top of the hood of my car now and I was stuck like a prisoner. If I was to open the door it would flood the car inside with water and I would not be able to get out because of the force of the water. It continued to rain and the water continued to rise even higher. Trucks and buses were barely passing now. Every time that one did pass it shook the whole vehicle. It was like I was in the sea. I prayed, Lord the only one that can help me now is you. Only You can stop the rain and make the waters recede. Only You can calm the storm. Then after much prayer and much water, the Lord saw fit to extend His grace to me one more time. The rain stopped and the Waters began to slowly recede. Some hours later I was able to get a tow truck to come get me out. If it wasn’t for the Lord I don’t know if I would have made it out alive. I have thanked the Lord for saving my life and I know that He has a plan for everything. The water that entered the motor of my car caused a serious problem. It is now at the mechanics shop. I am praying that the Lord would take care of this because He knows I cannot. I trust completely in Him and if He gave me the car He Will make a way to fix it. If we can look past our small area of vision and see the big Picture we will see that He is the one Who Will never forsake us. He gave us His Word on that. I am trusting in Him.
