My mom told me POINT BLANK when she saw that thing in the laundry hamper...if its going to get ironed, you'll be the one doing it. Its can be very hard being a gift!

There was a low water bridge we used to stop at on the way back. We would roll up our pants legs and wade in the creek to cool off in the summer. I could tell stories about my grandparents farm forever!

We used to do the same thing at the golf course. We would go get the balls that they guys hit across the street, take them into the club office and they would buy them back from us for practically pennies. Then we would hit the vending macines at the club. We would sit by the pool and eat and pretend that we were members of the golf course, when of course none of us were!!

Have you ever seen anyone put peanuts in their Coke? Lord, it's look like they gagged and spit in their Coke only to drink it again.

I hate peanuts in my coke. I don't want anything swimming around in something I'm going to drink!

I remember when our mother dropped us off at the Country Club to swim and had forgotten to pay the fee for the month. We had to sit there while she went home to get her checkbook. Gosh, I was embarrassed!!!

Dude, cherish the memories.

Dear God, that our children could know this kind of simple pleasure.

A general store
a wooden floor
your own money
buying little things
munching and enjoying
on the way back
to playing in a creek

....and heaven will be EVEN more wonderful!

I had a pair like these. Of course, we couldn't go to the skating ring but I skated around my neighborhood.
