Tithing your gross income wasn't taught by the Christian church until after Nicea and the churching becoming the state religion. The Ante-Nicene church fathers don't back that up neither does the examples in Acts or the Epistles of church giving. The first reference to it is the Apostolic Constitutions which are 4th century.

I too work a full time job(6 days a week/55 hours a week) I'm off on Sundays only, and I normally preach, and sometimes go to work after church. I completely understand your not being able to at this time.

HOWEVER, the tithing debate offer is open to any minister, and I would especially prefer if Ohio Pastor would do me the honor. As a reminder it is a one on one debated moderated by Praxeas, so there is no concern for the emotion you speak of. You can check out the debate room here on AFF and see I have entered into a debate before with Bro. AFP1996, which was very civil dispite our strong disagreements on the topic.


Thus if your too busy (and understandably so) perhaps Ohio Pastor, SE, RW, RKS, or one of these men would stand for what they claim to be truth. Unless they are simply more satisfied to hurl insults against me.

I know these brothers read here, simply direct them to this thread.

Read the thread T.S. started about the lack of evidence for an "Acts 2:38" church throughout most of the church age. I agreed, was threatened with a ban and derided for "ignoring all of the evidence."

One "Big Dog" responded... "Well, you know, I'd tell you but all of my books are packed away... besides, I forget."

Another "Big Dog" responded... "I read something in a dusty bookstore once!" And then continued to deride and insult me.

Someone else said, "Yeah, yeah... and you know K.B.'s grandma told him once that it was so!"

"Big Dogs?" Gimme a break TJJJ. Toothlessness and mange does not a "Big Dog" make.

If they were "Big Dogs" they would not have scampered out of here wimpering and whining about how tough it was to preach their silliness.
