Quick question.... Are you not able to visit him in the hospital and hold him due to these "complications" - or is this just a hospital policy?
So precious that he is bonding with her and watching her so closely! Children are such a blessing!
It's hospital policy that if he isn't well enough to come to the hospital room, you can't see him in the nursery.
Yes, the bonding is precious. I just got home, but she said she sent me a video of her tickling his tummy and him wiggling. I haven't seen it yet. LOL!
I went to the nursery window today and he had his back to me! Figures! LOL!
PO, is he in the NICU? Or just a long stay in the well baby nursery?
have they talked about RSV precausions?
A long stay in the well baby nursery. I don't know what RSV precausions mean? Haven't heard it mentioned. I think he is having infant reflux problems. At least they think that is what it is and what is causing his oxygen rate to drop when he lays on his back. They have to have him elevated.

I wanted to see if his nose looked as big as the picture she took on her phone!
When can you tell what color their eyes are? My daughter has blue eyes and her husband's eyes are green. I'd be surprised if the boy didn't have green eyes. His hair is dark like his daddy.

I think for a week or two, they have that film over their eyes. Some maybe later than others. My youngest looked like she had dark brown eyes for a couple of weeks, but they turned really bright blue.

Oh, okay, thanks. I was thinking it was about that long.

I was incorrect on my answer to you earlier. He is in NICU. She kept saying, "He's in the "cue" and I had no idea what that meant." My children don't like you to ask them questions when they are stressed out. I've been waiting until she is ready to talk about whatever.
I also have no knowledge of anything having to do with a hospital. The only thing I do know is that the elevators are up for inspection on my birthday. I did notice that. LOL!
Update today: He is not going home. They went home last night to clean and get the house ready, but he had 8 episodes last night. The doctors read the tapes and said that he never stopped breathing during the episodes when his oxygen level dropped, which is good news. He has lost some weight and is down to 6 lbs. 10 oz. I think that is pretty normal for a newborn to lose some weight.
She and her husband will both be taking a CPR class on Monday and they may possibly release him them. We shall see. They've ordered an elevated pillow to put in his crib as he must sleep in an elevated position.
My husband and I were able to put on scrubs and go into NICU to see him last night. He is so cute! Looks nothing like the last picture I posted, so I will be deleting that. I think she had her phone too close to his face or something. LOL!
PO, I'm sooooo glad that you got to see your grandson I know that the joy in that experience had to have been immeasurable!! We can't wait to see more pictures. Continuing to pray for him.
