Do you really think that our capitalist society will strengthen regulations on business?

Everyone knows what's going on, but our government isn't doing enough to stop it.

So our government is allowing this injustice to occur everyday, and most Americans turn a blind eye because we have our own lives to tend to.

The argument could be made, especially if the argument is made one or two generations after the injustice instead of 150 years or longer.

Our governement needs to make bold steps in one direction or the other in order to stop this problem from getting worse-- and it can get much, much worse.
Blah, blah, blah. How do you fix it? We have MILLIONS of them here.

Re: Your answer to illegal immigration.

Again.... everyone is moving toward stronger regulations for business on the private level, expansive criminalization, and vast policing efforts. A police state.

Here's a scary thought. What if the wackos on the far right could use the growing hatred for illegal aliens to help them push through some of their police state agenda?

Our current posture of doing nothing substantial about it will only add to a future reparations argument, as long as the argument is not made too far into the future.

School children should not attend school without their parents personally appearing in front of somone with strong proof that they themselves are in America legally.

Driver's licenses and other govt ID's should not be issued without proof of citizenship.

Property should not be able to be bought, sold, or even rented without STRONG PROOF that the people involved are here legally.

Banks should have stronger regulations to help ensure that all of their customers are here legally.

Complete the wall at the southern border to close the gate by which a large majority of the illegal aliens enter our country.

Hire more Border Patrol Agents and equip them do to their jobs without fear of stupidity.

Make the penalties more severe for companies and individuals who DO NOT DO THEIR DUE DILIGENCE to ensure that they have employed someone who is here legally, ensuring that language that distinguishes between "knowingly" and "unwittingly" is codified, but does not exclude any the violaters from certain punishment.

?????? I offered a solution that would work. Wouldn't be expensive to implement. If people are too afraid of what might happen when they give illegals jobs, then jobs will be harder to find for illegals. With harder to find jobs many will be forced to go back to their own countrys. Sounds like a perfect solution to me. A similar principle is used in schools to help keep the smart kids from giving others their answers. They will be punished too if they are caught helping someone cheat. I think this solution would greatly decrease the number of jobs for illegal immigrants in this country.

Shouldn't be much of an argument since they shouldn't even be here. They have no rights, as they are NOT citizens!

Reparations argument is one I haven't heard, but I am looking at the angles. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

I'm a parent. What if I don't want to give them more than my child's birth certificate and immunization records?

That's a state issue. Should we move toward a nationalized driver's license?

You're really getting government up in my business here. What if I want to buy a house on land contract and it's my business?
Banks should have stronger regulations to help ensure that all of their customers are here legally.
What if I don't want to "prove" I'm a citizen to give a bank my business? I'm an American.

What if I don't want that wall being built across my land? What if I don't want my country turned into a giant prison?

More boarder protection agents aren't a bad idea... but I fear that with all the measures you're advancing we're marching into a police state.

What if I want to hire my neighbor to build my roof and I simply don't care if he's legal or not? It's my money, my roof, and we agreed privately how much I'll charge him. What if I don't want you or the government all up in my business?

You're resorting to police state tactics. This is right wing fascism at it's finest. The right wing always tends to resort to this rhetoric to describe how they'd enforce their laws on us.

What if I want my neighbor to replace my roof and I don't care if he's a citizen or not? It's my roof, my money, and our private agreement. Why do you want the government up in my business?

Aquila,

I agree with you on this!

These guys are absolutely bought into the idea that Big Brother is gonna take care of them! Just give big brother all the tools to do that! Their absolute insanity is killing me! They have bought into the idea that all our nations problems are caused by the illegals! Sounds like Nazi Germany and hitlers proclaiming that all their troubles were caused by the Jews!

WOW!

Especially Jerm yn!

He is all for Obama, apparently because of the color, but against the "illegals" maybe because of their color!

Sounds like some of the others have a color problem also! Not so much a "illegal" problem!

I'm sure drug dealers tell the IRS the same thing

My plan was not to go out and enforce those kind of things very much more. Just a little, and make a few examples of people. Then once fear sits in, make an example every now and then to keep it there and people will stop offering jobs to illegal immigrants.

No government up in your business, unless your doing something illegal, and even if you are the point isn't to find you and make you stop, the point is to frighten you of what will happen if you don't stop.
