I don't care what any minister wears. But there are those who do care what ministers wear. My question was if this attitude existed anywhere else.
Nothing divisive about it.

I'm not getting the offense either. How in the world is this topic divisive.
I hope she explains because I'd like to hear about this one

How you dressed for church used to be a respect issue, but not so much in this day and time!
You dress up for a wedding or funeral out of respect. Many call their dress clothes their "Sunday Best" or "church clothes".
Unfortunately, a visitor can feel out of place sometimes if everyone is dressed to the 9s. Dressing down can help visitors to be participators instead of spectators.

Apparel really is a cultural issue. I think that over all, we have a lot of room to be more flexible. I remember the world conference in Manila back in the 1980's. As soon as they saw the local preachers wearing those embroidered shirts as a "suit" all the Americans went out and bought one so they could leave their suit coats at the hotel.

Culture changes and there's nothing wrong with changing with it, as long as it's still Godly. 40 years ago, everyone used to wear suits to work, to major league ballgames, to PTA meetings, to eat out, etc. Now culture is much more casual, and that's why church has become more casual too. There's nothing wrong with it.
What if you didn't own a suit and tie? We have lots of sinners come in who would not be able to stay if they felt out of place without a suit and tie!

40 years ago people looked GQ, and 40 years in the future they will be dressed in a black garbage bags with cardboard boxes on their feet?
Now the homey look and soon the homeless look. That's advancement?
When I went to church I could care less if everyone were wearing Armani, I wanted Jesus Christ.
